He said someone asked Saban about it and Saban said the Dolphins made the right choice with Ginn and passing on Quinn. He also said Beck will be a good QB. Take it for what its worth.

Right. Saban never would have drafted a QB, because he thought he was going to the super bowl every year no matter what.

I haven't been too impressed with Saban's draft picks while he was our Head Coach and had full control, especially last year. He should stick to coaching COLLEGE football and RECRUITING players for Alabama and NOT DRAFTING players for a professional football team. My first choice was Levi Brown, I was really hoping we would get him but I am glad that we ended up passing on Quinn and went for Ted Ginn Jr. Not sure about Beck, I thought we'd go with Drew Stanton but we shall see.

Of course he said that. Why would you be surprised? 21 teams passed on Brady Quinn for a very good reason. I think NFL GMs, unlike the media, are thinking that Cleveland reached even at 22 to get him.
It was never going to be Brady Quinn. Never.

Haha, if that rumor is true, then you know it was a bad pick.

Oh crap! Is this the same Saban that passed on Brees and took Culpepper? Man, I was feeling better about Beck until this!

Exactly which drafted football players are you not impressed with from 2005 and 2006?? It's just a question because MANY of those football players are showing serious promise.

I would of loved to see Nick Saban and the scouting team in a draft with 10 draft picks.

How many teams passed on Marino?

Well we have the same scouting staff and reports from the Saben era so its not that suprising, and I also saw on eiterh ESPN or NFL network that last year while Nick Saben was scouting Santonio Holmes that he was enamoured with Ted Ginn Jr

Let me get my notebook out and write this down. Just want to make sure he does not change his mind during the preseason. I am sure he will then say Miami should have taken the waterboy from LSU over GINN.

Saban would have drafted someone we could have gotten in round three. Regardless of who we picked, I'm glad that quitter wasn't pulling the strings. He was no better at drafting than Wanny and Spielman. I hope he loses every game this year and they run him out of Tuscaloosa.

Marino got passed by so many teams because of a rumour. It was also an exceptional quarterback class. This year's QB class was pretty weak. Once Kolb got picked so early, there was run on Qbs. There are many examples of QBs getting picked late that star in the league but it is very hard to predict they will succeed. I highly doubt that Brady Quinn will be the next Dan Marino.

Never say Never....a week ago everyone loved Quinn...now for convenience...most fans and "experts" are saying how he was over-rated...weak arm...and don't get me wrong..I was never a Quinn fan...but he was taught by a coach that has a great record of teaching QB's. He is far the ready QB in this draft...bar none...and he has a chip on his shoulder now...and is out to prove those that passed him over...they were wrong...thats a dangerous QB to face. Just remember Oct 14...it could be a day that he faces the Dolphins.
