It seems our run defense did pretty good this preseason. We seemed to stop the Bucs, Jags & Chiefs run game, but seemed to struggle stopping Duece McAllister and the Saints run game.

Is this of any concern??? I did not watch the game but saw the highlights on NFL gameday (NFL network). It seemed we were having problems stopping Duece.

We had trouble? where at? From what I saw, our D was swarming the runner. Highlights are highlights, try stats out, they tell a better story

We did have problems containing Duece. If he had stayed in the game the problem may have continued. Stats don't tell much in a preseason game. We held the Saints to a paultry 99 yards, but it's not like the starters played for very long and Drew Brees was on the bench the whole game.

And the saints are a better team than us...

I saw the stats and I think Deuce McCallister had something like 11 rushes for 33 yards, but he did have that one swing pass where he faked Andre Goodman out of his socks. I've been impressed with our run defense this preseason as well and can't wait to see it in action against the Jets.

Last year we ranked 16th for rushing defense during the preseason and 31st during the regular season. We ranked 6th this preseason, but I have no idea what that means except it is better.

I think we will be in the top 10 for run defense and top 20 in pass defense. However, we did look good rushing the QB in the preseason so that could be better too.
