Man we have a tough decision in the backfield. Beyond the big three: Drake, Gore and Ballage, who do you keep? I don't think Radcliff is in the conversation, but you have Langford, Perry, and Howell. Even though Gase has worked with him before, I think Langford is going to find himself among the cuts. Now it is down to Howell and/or Perry. I hope we keep 4 RBs on the roster, but that may not be possible. Ideally, I would keep Perry on the 53(don't now if he is PS eligible)and stash Howell on the practice squad. But if he is PS squad eligible can you stash(want) 2 RBs on the PS. Howell may not be swept up by another team, but I have a feeling Perry would be plucked off it if we did that. In any case, I believe Perry has done enough to warrant a place on the 53. If not as a contributor at RB, then on STs.

Of the group I would go with Perry, but I think even better options will be on the market Saturday after all the cuts around the league have been made.

I would also go with Perry. Splitting hairs after the top 3.

Perry has already made the team. That's why he wasn't dressed last night. My guess is due to his value on ST as much as his running. Howell to the practice squad IMHO. I think he's been the best of the rest. Funny thing. He didn't even start at FAU. Had to sit behind Devin Singletary his junior and senior year. But he was productive his whole career at FAU. I don't recall him catching balls out of the backfield like he did last night though.

I was going to say the same thing. If perry was still fighting for his football life, he would’ve played last night. The only reason ballage played was because he’s missed so much time and gase wants rookies to get the extra work

As mentioned above, Perry has already made the team.
He is also one of our best Special teams players.
I like Howell. I hope he makes the PS.

im not a big fan of perry actually touching the ball, but I guess he has ST's ability. I really wish we could keep 3 RB's but with KB already being in the concussion protocol this early in his career, and KD seems to get little dings here and there, almost feel like we have to carry 4 since our 2nd stringer is 35. but would love to see an upgrade after cuts are made

Howell provides a different skill set. Perry is about as run of the mill as they come, although I would definitely trust him as an every down back way moreso than Howell at this point. But that's not really a big factor in my decision...if we're at the point where Perry needs to be our Bell cow that means the season is over anyway. At the end of the day, better special teamer will likely stick.

I think the plan would be to keep Perry on the roster for special teams and emergency spot duty, but if something were to happen to Drake Gore or Ballage they would then look at the available street free agents and other teams practice squad options. Wouldn't be shocked if Howell is on the Miami practice squad.
