What do you guys think of picking up Chris Brown from the Titans? I watched a couple games this past season he looked like a strong runner except he run a little upright. Or should we pick someone in middle rounds of the draft?

A lot of what we do with the running back situation will depend on Ricky Williams reinstatement process. If Ricky's reinstated, there will be no need to bring in a veteran like Chris Brown. If Ricky is not reinstated, then he could be an option or we could go with Cobb, Chatman or a rookie.
Should we wait that long and take the risk or bring someone in now that will be their to play come week 1.

Only one problem with your post. Couldn't have been this last season because after about week 1-2 Chris Brown never saw the field.

Ronnie Brown's make or break year? What are you talking about? Please dont tell me you think Julius Jones or Marion Barber are upgrades over Brown. Ronnie will have a great year this year. He had a really good year last year. He missed 3 games and still had over 1000 yards.

I like Ronnie and hope that he will have a 1000 yards season. but it is great to have a second great or good back (remember the great days of the Ricky Brown combination ).

I agree the 2 back system is the way to go, but I would love to see Ronnie play 16 full games and get about 325 carries...IMO that would transelate into a 1500 yard season for Ronnie.

We still have June cuts coming up too, might be somebody decent dropped that we can pickup. I have hopes Ricky comes back but I am having my doubts now because Mueller and Cam have been mum on Ricky's status.

1. You have Ronnie as your starter
2. IF Ronnie gets hurt, you are relying on Mr Glass a guy that cannot stay on the field

Week 1 probably won't be until September. We have plenty of time to address who may be Ronnie Brown's running mate or backup.
Cobb looked good last preseason for NE and that's why he was traded to Pittsburgh.
Chatman is someone Cameron is familiar with from his days in San Diego.
There are a number of draftees whom we could also look at such as Antonio Pittman of Ohio State, Kolby Smith of Louisville, Romance Taylor formerly of Texas, etc.

The reason why CHris Brown is hurt so often is because she runs upright. if you watch game film on him he hardly ever drops his shoulders and the fact that he's over 6 foot tall doesn't help him either. it helps LB and safties get great hiots on him because of his up right running style. if you doubt me check out some of his game video. that was the knock on him coming out of school and thats still the knock on him to. how do you expect someone to stay healthy if other defenses are getting clean shots at ur body?
