I'm seein' Ronnie Brown having a problem, and I'm not sure if Carolina has that good of a defense or we need a stronger front to block for him. In the air, the game is very impressive for us. It needs a little work but it's a new situation for everybody. God, I think Culpepper and Chambers might be the next Montana and Rice. Thoughts?:dolphins:

My thoughts are the run blocking was supect tonight but the pass blocking was superb. Also, everytime Culpepper did a play fake, he was all by himself. You know what that means, the Panthers were respecting the running game and probably game planned to stop it. No RB will have a 100 yard game every week, that's impossible.

especially against a team whose top 3 DTs (Jenkins/Lewis/Kemeotu) weigh over a ton

The panthers gave up an average of 92 rushing yards per game last year. They have one of the best if not the best run defense in the league. Our game probably needs to step it up, but there up against some pretty stiff competition.

The Dolphins also ran alot of run plays on the left, which apparently is the weakest part of our offensive line.

Today was the first time I ever knew that Ronnie Brown was a left-handed back when he threw the ball to Chambers. I'm not sure if him being left-handed has an effect on the way he plays, but that side of our offensive line is just getting torched.

Left handed run plays work well for Seattle, but they have Walter Jones for that.

We shouldn't forget that Ronnie Brown rush well against Tampa Bay and Jacksonville. Like mentioned earlier in the posts previously, Carolina has a great defensive line.

Good point, I guess I'm just worried about the rest of the league. We have to have a strong line to stop those kinds of teams.:dolphins:

Ronnie Brown did do well tonight. He showed how strong he is when he carried like 4 of them on his shoulder to push for a 10 yard run.

He just needs better blocking.

I also think Ronnie needs to pick his hole, and hit it, rather then side stepping.
Right, but does anybody see an improvement from last year? I think with the right blocks, he could be exceptional.:dolphins:

I think the combination of our average O-Line and Carolina's top D-Line contributed to the bad running game. Ronnie didn't have much of a chance on those runs tonight.

Too many screens outside as well, but it's all an expirement. Honestly though if Daunte's protection is good and he feels well start bombing the ball all over the place.

O-line sux!!!!!! Every year there is this conversation about o line strength and excuses for poor play, THEY SUCK!!! We need to improve!! Ronnie won't have the strength to carry load if he is fighting for his life every carry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feh. Those idiots couldn't block to save their ***** tonight, much less Ronnie's. Corrective training!
