Running Hard & Fighting For Carries: Lex Hilliard

Lex has always hit the hole hard which is a good thing. He runs a bit upright which may also be reason for so much contact prople are hearing. The issue with running upright is you get hit more and wear down faster. We definitly need another power back other than Daniel Thomas.
 
I'm personally high on Lex. So is the FO imo, seeing as they let ronnie n ricky walk.

I like him. When people have talked about Jason Snelling and guys like that, I've been trying to say Hilliard is at least as good as Snelling.
 
if he's the most impressive between the tackles running back we have in camp i don't like it...he's jag to me...limited wiggle north south runner...as for snelling that guys awfully damn versatile...so i'd prefer him to hilliard
 
He's basically a big Karim Abdul Jabbar. A straight ahead plowhorse with little vision or change of direction. Sure, he hits the hole hard. But there's such a thing as hitting the hole so hard you're hitting it stupid. In the running game, to borrow a phrase, some times you have to **** her gently. Hilliard to me is just awkward and overly choppy to be relied on. I'd prefer if he moved to fullback (he showed some promise at this last year) so we could dispose of Polite, because I do like what he can bring out of the backfield and I can see him in a LaRon McClain, spot carries, short yardage kind of role.
 
I like Hilliard. He can run, catch, block, and play ST's. I've got to think he makes the team this year. And I hope they actually use him a bit.

The little I have seen of Snelling I dont think Lex is near as good as Snelling although I think he has potential. Snelling ripped tampa bay when thrown in for an injured Turner and has shown excellent hands , I just dont see lex being able to step in like that but would be awesome if he did.
 
lex has potential. he is a hard runner, but no vision. lex is not a featured back in this league. he is a 3rd rb and good special teamer
 
This front office/management had to know last season that Ronnie and Ricky
would not be returning and with this in mind they give Lex ZERO carries last season

Wouldn't have made sense to see what we had with Lex LAST season which could have
had a huge factor on our draft?

Unless the front office was trying to rest Lex for a year.:)

Another reason why I can't wait till those responsible for moves like this should be gone

For the record I like Lex as a runner but more so on routes out of the backfield
 
lol, sheets and hilliard get more noise than bush and thomas for some odd reason. They are backups for a reason and its going to stay that way. Lex is a workhouse but is the athletics and skills up to par with reggie bush? hell no.
