Thats basically when I lost all hope and knew we were gonna blow it.:boohoo:

An absolute horrible call.

Its obvious you have to throw it. Pennington could of easily made a 6 yrd completion.

BUt no, we ran it and got a yard and settled for a field goal. Sigh

Many times we had receivers open 10 to 15 yards down the field but it seems like we just wanted to run safe ball control plays.... apparently Henning thought three points would be enough to win it by playing for a FG late in the game.....I guess Henning didn't see how quickly Manning tied the game up immediately after we took a 7 point lead on the Colts in the 3rd quarter. If the defense can't stop anyone, it doesn't matter whether we control the ball or run the Wildcat. :rolleyes2:

Well...if you read the day after transcript from the coach you will notice that C. Pennington called a running play at the line...it was Pennington's call...his option to throw or run and he decided to call the run. No matter what...MOST of the blame falls on the defense. They can't tackle and put no pressure on the QB's in 2 games now.

Go Fins!!!

didn't everyone say that manning does a lot with so little time. like all of us, reporters, well, I guess d was paying to much intention to manning's fake calls in which they try to avoid by calling fake calls themselves well how much did that help.

I felt the same exact way after we settled for a field goal attempt for the 4th time. The play calling inside the 40 was abysmal and cost us that game. I knew we were toast and couldnt believe we settled for a FG when it was apparent to anyone who cared to watch the game that our defense couldnt stop them. Terrible job by the coaches imo.

that was a weak play call similar to that prevent defense that people like to play when they have the lead but always end up losing

I'd also like to add that when you're moving the ball just fine without Pat White then don't bring in Pat White. We were running down their throat and still felt the need to bring in Pat White to hand off to Ricky. Reeeeeetarded...the play calling was brilliant until we got into field goal range/end of the game and then it got just brutal.

I found it odd that We brought in White to do that. I felt like they were setting up the colts for a pass by White but it never happened

Was a bad move, had no faith in them stopping Manning or even holding him to a field goal.

I didn't like that play call either. You are settling for a field goal.

Perhaps Chad thought a run would cross them up. If they had run it out of the wildcat last night, chances are it would have worked.

I was shaking my head in disbelief when I saw the play.

Worst call all night!! I feel like when Chad is in we play way too conservative. I think Henne could bring a spark and give the coaches some confidence to call some mid-range to deep pass plays that Penn has trouble with. Many will say Henne isn't ready and Penn is much safer but screw safe, its time to take some chances and become a franchise who is willing to pull out all the stops to get to the big show!

Was there honestly one person in the world that didnt know Peyton was going to drive down for a TD after we left him 3:50?

Playing to lose.

I was absolutely floored that we played that 3rd down so conservatively. You have to attack the Colts and finish.

I knew we were screwed.
