Ryan Clady scouting report- NFLDC

I'd enjoy getting him, not sure if he'll be around after our first pick though.

I really like the line..."Outstanding pass blocker"

2-3 more seconds per snap could mean a potentially terrible confidence shattering 2nd season to Outstanding respectable starting qb for many years for John Beck. A legit solid LT is something i think would benefit this team to great extents.

I would actually rate Clady behind Jeff Otah. Clady is certainly a better overall athlete. That said, I think Otah's frame, strength, and arm length are so enticing considering his upside athletically.

I could see Otah being a dominant force in a year or two. I am not sure I can say the same about Clady.

Shhhhhh, I m hoping he slips into the late 1st round so maybe we can tradeup a few spots and snag him..

If we trade with Atlanta or Baltimore or a team in the 5-8 range, I would love to select him.

Then why does he have J. Long rated above him?

http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/rankings/ot.html

He says Clady is the best "pure left tackle" in the draft. Doesn't mean Long can't be better rated as a tackle overall. Maybe he thinks Long is more ready than Clady and that is why he is higher, who knows? But, Clady will play the left side of the OL in the pros, a lot of people can't conclusively say that about Long.

Every top draft expert has Long rated the best LT in the draft...he has the most experience at LT...he is a LT.

The experts don't make their opinions known as they work for the various teams. Everyone else is simply part of the media. Mayock, Kiper, and all the "cottage industry" draft guru's as Bill Parcells calls them are not experts.

I have a feeling the actual experts may differ on the opinion that Long is a left tackle worthy of taking high. That said, it only takes one foolish team.

Or one smart team...right?

According to whom? Read the post above.

Here we go - Sesame Street for football, just for you Pete.

The Letter T!!!! :woot:

This letter, when referring to an offensive or defensive line position, means Tackle!

The Letter L!!!! :woot:

This letter, when in combination with the letter T, means Left Tackle!

The Letter R!!!! :woot:

This letter, when in combination with the letter T, means Right Tackle!

The Letter O!!!! :woot:

This letter, when in combination with the letter T, means Offensive Tackle!

Now we're going to have some fun seeing how some draft sites use these letters to rank linemen, starting with nfldraftcountdown:

Scott Wright has his rankings for OTs on this page that fishypete linked earlier: http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/rankings/ot.html

Can you tell me what OT means Pete?

...

:hi5: I knew you could!

When Scott Wright says that Clady is the best pure LT, does that mean the same thing as OT?

...

:hi5: That's right! It doesn't!!!

Now that your questions regarding the letters T, L, O, and R have been answered, look forward to next show where we talk about the differences between the letters H and F when you see them with the letter B!!
