The guy from Harvard came right off the bench to comeback and win (Against the Texans, i know i know). 19-30, 310 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT...

this goes to show that just because a guy doesnt play well in practice, doesnt mean he cant play. If Miami loses another game, i say we just let Cleo Lemon, Manny Wright, Vickerson (if he isnt injured), Alabi (if he isnt hurt), Moore, and all our other young players to play...who knows...Lemon may throw for 3 TDs and 300+ yards and prove to be a solid starter...then maybe we dont need someone like Leinart....i think the Rams are saying "shoulda started Fitzpatrick earlier". But i think we are at a spot now, where we should give our young guns, our rookies, the chance to show themselves. Same thing happened with Tom Brady and Marc Bulger...they were backups, then once they played they proved real well.

Who knows what Cleo Lemon is hiding:tongue:

lol im sick of all these people saying "Lemon will never be a starter, this guy will never be a starter"....do u think anyone believed 7-8 years ago that Tom Brady would be a star?? or Marc Bulger? or Kurt Warner? Or now, Ryan Fitzpatrick? Kyle Orton? I say let him play, let him show what hes made of

jury is still out on fitzpatrick, if he is doing it again, against some competition not the sorry texans D, like washington next sunday then i´m convinced that he can eventually play

Ok, so even if you think that Lemon is some diamond in the rough.....and completely disregard that he was 3rd string for 2 different teams...............

How long has he been in this system?? Like 7 weeks?? I'm sure he'd do great. Why don't you guys relax a little bit and give the kid a chance to learn as a back-up for a little while before you start calling for him. if he were to play now, it would be a recipe for disaster....even if he does have the talent to succeed.

Well, I wanted the Fins to draft Ryan Fitzpatrick in the 4th round this year. I never heard of Cleo Lemon. If you think Lemon will come in and set the world on fire, don't bet your house on it.

I tend to think we will see more of the back ups towards the end of the season unless the division is on the line. It obvious Saban is in the evaluating stage and wants to see what he's got.

I wonder if this Cutler Kid will be there in the 2nd when we choose

Your assumption that Fitzpatrick hasn't played well in practice and that the Rams should have played him earlier is complete speculation, and your entire analysis is made off less than a whole game.

Whatever Cleo Lemon is hiding, he must have hid so well he didn't even get drafted in the 7th round. Lemon either starts because of injuries or because he plays well enough to secure the spot. Luckily only fans are naive enough to think that just because the starting QB isn't playing well the third string QB must be the next Dan Marino suffering from a conspiracy against him. You don't throw games away to test players, it's stupid, it's disrespectful to the players that put their health on the line every snap and luckily coaches know that.

I don't want to see young inexperienced guys in there until we are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

Not until the last 2 games please, and only if we are out of contention.
BTW Vickerson is now pretty good, but he's on IR
Moore is also on IR, which means their seasons are over.

A big difference between Fitzpatrick and Lemon is that Fitzy actually wen't throughb training camp with the guys and learned the offense. I doubt lemon has progressed very far given the fact that currently we are adding to the play book, and not "teaching" it.

Also, please remember that QB's off the bench can do well because they manage the game differently than what the D has been preparing for all week. I remember when ramsey went out and Tim Hasselback just started to slice us up. or when Bollinger came off the bench andd almost gave the jets a win. Then their next game they just absoloutly tank.

Either way i would like to see lemon get some playing time. If only to evaluate him before we make some big decisions in the off season....

So are you stating that Lemon is/was 3rd string because he lacks talent? He was behind Brees and Rivers in SD for a year and a half. He comes to Miami in the middle of the season and sits 3rd string. I don't know that either of these two situations are necessarily good indicators of his talent.

Cleo isn't hiding.... The issue of Cleo has been addressed by this coaching staff.. especially after last weeks pathetic loss. Cleo isn't playing... and likely isn't going to play because he is still learning the system. Nopt because he isn't showing ability.
That being said. The merry-go-round at the QB position isn't helpful at all. I know you all want "the future" right now.. But it isn't going to happen.
My prediction that if there is going to be any insertion of Cleo at all it wont be until week 16 or 17 at best.
Stop being so impatient.

Yeah, when I saw highlights of Fitzpatrick's play I was a little upset that we didn't consider him. I had no idea that he had the kind of arm that he possesses, and the accuracy he possesses.

I mean, at some point, you've got to sit down and say to yourself if his actual physical talent level (arm, accuracy) are on par with some of these other guys, am I really going to avoid drafting him because he played against sub-par competition WHEN he's a Harvard grad AND scored a 50 out of 50 on the Wonderlic? What are you worried about, that his brain isn't quick enough to comprehend complicated defenses or complicated offenses? Jeez man. He's a PERFECT Mike Martz quarterback too. I really admire the situation they've got over there with Fitzpatrick and Bulger...actually I just admire the situation they have with Martz. I would love for him to be our OC.

The situation with Fitzpatrick reminds me of like a mirror-image of what happened with Bulger. Bulger showed uber-accuracy at times and a decent arm in practice, and is a VERY smart QB. He ended up tops on the depth chart because of his smarts. Fitzpatrick is going to do the same.
