The Patriots are looking for offers for Hoyer and Mallett. Since a lot of people here wanted Mallet last year, what would you be willing to trade for him this year. I'm not saying the team should or should not seek a trade, just interested to see what value he would have here?

the raiders will be soon offering another motherlode for BB

We should offer nothing. tell BB to suck it.

I think we should offer a 1st and 2nd rounder for either of them. NOT
Honestly, sometimes it seems there is a concerted effort around the league to over compensate the Pats for any players they put on the trading block
why don't we help BB even more in building a real deep roster so that he can dominate the division for 10 more yrs

I'd give them a 5th rounder for Ryan Mallet.

One has to ask why they want to ship out Mallett after just one year? Maybe for the same reasons he fell down draft boards all the way into the third round.

Somethings up if the Pats are looking to offload him. Seems like a case of buyer beware.

I think the original plan by the Patriots was to draft Mallet as an investment not to groom him for their own future. My guess is they see what some teams are willing to give up for Tannehill and Weedan and have to at least check to see what offers they can get.

BB would never trade a good player to us. And the fact the Pats are willing to let them go suggests: 1) Either of them are good enough to be the heir to Brady and they don't care which they keep/develop or 2) Neither of them are good enough to be the heir to Brady or 3) One of them is good enough to be the heir to Brady and it won't be the guy they trade.

Again the reason for the thread is not that I want the team to trade or not trade for Mallet, I'm more interested in in player depreciation rate and the value of draft picks. There are a lot of people who would have traded a 2012 second round pick for Malllet last year but would not trade a 2012 3rd round pick for him this year. Just like there are a lot of people who would draft Tannehill in the first round this year, but if he's drafted by another team they would not be willing to trade a 2013 2nd round pick for him next year.

Wow People really read way too much into things the Pats have basically said they will listen to offers, hell we should listen to offers for any player we have.

I doubt the Pats would trade with us because of the rivalry but would start an offer with one of our thirds and maybe a later pick. mallet is a talented guy.
From what I hear they like Hoyer and Mallet but BB is always looking to improve team in any area. Brady is 34 and playing at an extremely high level has two more years on his contract and at this pace could play at least 4 more years. Reports are they are pleased with Mallet and like Hoyer and think he could be a starter. Doesnt help team to overstock any one position if you can trade one and improve rest of team.

Would rather trade a second round pick for Mallet than draft Weeden. Hell Mallet is still 5 years younger than Weeden and definately not less talented.
