Tannehill was outplayed by rookie Josh Allen, who accounted for four touchdowns. It was a sour end to the season for Tannehill, who failed to hit the 150-yard threshold in four of his final five games.

Now, the Dolphins have to be asking themselves if they can again put their confidence in Tannehill in 2019. Not to mention $26.6 million in cap space.

"I have no idea," Tannehill said of the possibility he'll be retained. "No idea. I have not communicated with anybody about that. I was focused fully on this game and coming out and wining the football game. Obviously that didn't happen, but I haven't had any discussions or anything. The game just ended 30 minutes ago, so it's tough to even think about all that going forward.

"I know God has a plan for my life, whatever that may be, and that's where I'm going to be."

It’s a shame, I wanted him to work out, but it’s just not there to happen. Miami and Tannehill going their separate ways is best for both parties.

Id rather they asked Grier and Gase and Tannenbaum, about Allen outplaying their investment, not to mention Mahomes, Watson, and so on, draftees of last 3 years.
Id love to hear what they think of their own failures and why they should keep their jobs.

Not sure how this is best for Tannehill. It would be surprising if another team gave him a large contract and handed him the starting job without bringing in real competition. Let alone not benching him for continually being unable to lead a productive offense.

I think his days of being coddled are over.

if anyone was coddled it was JAY CUTLER or any player Gase brought here

I think it is best for both the team and Ryan to move on. It just sucks that the team with most likely be paying a large chunk of their cap space to another player who will no longer be on the team.

If I were to place a bet on this, I would say RT has played his last game as a Dolphin. However, I still do think there is a chance they keep him on the roster in 2019 due to that contract. I think though there is 100% chance, we will either draft or bring in a veteran QB to challenge for the starting job. A lot of what happens depends on whether Gase stays or go in my opinion…...

I think your right. He's never had a true competition for the job.

I knew this two years ago. Tough SOB, but we deserve more at the QB position.

I agree there! Guys that are already on the team and talented got pushed to the side so guys Gase brought in could play. Gore should've been brought in at short yards and end of the game to finish. His age wasn't gonna last. U also can't tell me any other lineman on the roster couldn't have done better at LG? Gase is running off our talent!!

I was a solid Tannehill fan from the beginning, to nearly the end. Really really wanted him to be the guy. Unfortunately things don’t always work out. Best of luck to him, and would love to keep him as a back up. Plus that way we’d get to keep Lauren around

He has had his chances. Time to move on. Well that should have been a couple of years ago.

Wish him the best.

I bought one of those Tannehill throwback jersey's when they first came out. Thankfully it was a knock off and didn't waste a couple hundred on a real one. Probably be the last Dolphin's jersey I ever bought.
