Ryan Tannehill could be our next qb if manning goes to arizona

1) manning 2) flynn 3) veteran who can run west coast 4) draft QB

If Browns sign flynn then dolphins will draft tannehill. thats only if browns dont trade their pick to another team wanting a qb.

Tannehill isn't that good and is just another Henne....

The dropoff from QBs 1/2 and 3-5 in this draft is huge...

Cousins also sucks as well...

Face it, there are only two fracnhise QBs worthy in this draft...The rest are just more Chad Hennes...

No offense, but I'll leave that decision to the real experts and not armchair scouts like you

Sadly, I think we will lose out on Manning to the Broncos, Flynn to Cleveland(thankfully-he is the next Kolb), RGIII is going to Washington, and Hennehill will be there at #8. We will not take a 2nd round talent with the #8 pick. It is just pure stupidity.

Even if we trade down to a spot that makes more sense, who thinks he will fall to us?
I think the odds are that we start the season with Matt Moore. He is our starter. We had all better get used to that scenario.
Matt Moore was the 12th best starter in the league based on statistics, and after a slow team start, rallied the team to a 6-3 record down the stretch.

If Ross does not offer Manning everything he asks, plus some other perks, we have no shot. Denver has Elway, we have Ireland. Think about that for a minute. This will probably be the decider. Ross has to step up in a big way, and handle the negotiations directly.

I'd Take that bet, The Fins are not just counting on one QB they are also working on their backup too, The only wildcard there in that thinking is whether or not anyone that remains overtakes Moore as being a better #2 that we have right now.

I find it hard to believe that with a GM, coach, and owner, who have all said something to the effect of "we need a quarterback that will get us over the hump"... we will go into the season with matt moore as plan A....

I find it hard to believe too. Would I be surprised if it happens? NO. These next few days will define Ross and Ireland.
Will they let the next "big fish" get away?
It is becoming a familiar theme. Past performance is indicative of the future.
We have heard all the statements"getting over the hump" etc, but will they make the moves necessary? They will have to make bold moves, instead of always playing it safe.

Kolb will be a free agent if Peyton signs to Arizona, Kolb might fit with the Browns scheme.

Seattle would be the only team basically to fight us over Tannehil because they are in need of a quarterback but they draft no.12 (they will also look to sign Flynn as well because there gm has a relationship with him)

with this being said if the browns don't sign Flynn or Kolb they could get Tannehil at no.4

Manning is not the next big fish he is 36yrs old with neck injuries, his prime has passed.. Yes we might get two years of solid qb play out of him, but at what cost?? Ross needs to stop throwing his money at all these big name over the hill FA and build through the draft, that's what will make this team succeed year in year out.. If we pick up Manning we will be no better than the Vikings, and look at them now.. At this point I would take Moore under C for another year with a new offensive game plan. This is no a pocket passers league anymore..

I don't understand why alot of people hate Tannehill on here? The kids only played QB in college for 2 yrs and has a whole hell of a lot of upside. He was first and foremost a QB but A&M had a QB so they switched him to WR and did really well at it. Last yr he didn't play bad his receivers couldn't catch a cold. I like what I see from Tannehill and I see a bright future for him as a QB in this league.

I actually watched alot of Tannehill. And he isn't TOP 10 material.

Oh and him 'not' playing bad last year, is laughable. I guess 4 wins in the BIG 12 are someone else's fault?

I thought I would check in on the madhouse. Seems like everybody is still on the ledge. Anyways, back on topic if Miami can't have Manning or Flynn, then Tannehill is the next logical choice. He knows Mike Sherman's offense, so the learning curve would be short for him.

Moving down and selecting Brandon Weeden would be my choice, hopefully landing us a QB that looked as good as Luck for the next 8 years hopefully, and picking up an extra 2nd and 5th....

If Manning doesn't sign here, which looks like he won't, Miami has to do everything in their power to get Matt Flynn to sign here. If they miss on both Manning and Flynn they will have failed to upgrade the quarterback position for this year. Tannehill at #8 is a reach and perhaps he can be a solid starter down the road, but I highly doubt he would start the season over Matt Moore. This team appears to be in a win now mode and Tannehill is a couple of year project that might not amount to being a solid starter. They need someone to walk in day one and take control of the starting job and that is either Manning or Flynn.

It is possible that Flynn might be "Another Kolb", but if Philbin is sold on him it is hard to argue that he won't improve the quarterback position.

People said RGIII will bust because hes a "Big 12 QB", but people love Tannehill who was average at best in the Big 12...

1. Owner speaks publicly about wanting Peyton Manning
2. Owner hires Philbin
3. Philbin hires Sherman
4. GB does not tag Flynn
5. Team does not pursue trading up to get RGIII
6. Peyton released by IND
7. Peyton states he will make a choice by Tuesday (start of FA)
8. STL trades #2 overall pick to WAS (for RGIII)
9. Peyton visits Broncos, visiting Arizona next
10. Peyton visists Arizona, no "next" visit planned

To me, it's obvious if you look at the undercurrent... We've publicly bluffed our interest in Peyton and RGIII. Flynn is our next QB. And will be signed quickly after FA starts.

Ross looked like a fool chasing after Harbaugh and Fisher. I think he wisened up and took a page out of Parcell's book by being a PR diversion.

It's obvious now that Peyton was never interested in us. We're not even being mentioned and his "tour" is almost over.

Why would you hire a HC who doesn't want the QB you want? Because you're deferring to his judgement.

Flynn has been the choice the whole time.
