The Chiefs realized that one and done in the playoffs was the furthest they were going to go with Smith. They needed more than a game manager and finally did something about it. What did they do? They gave up a first round pick and drafted a QB in the first round, and it has turned out pretty well for them. The point is, Tannehill has been in the league for seven years and we are going nowhere with this guy. If the plan is to try and sneak into the playoffs and grab a wildcard spot every once in a while, then he is your guy. If you want this offense taken to another level, we need to move on from Tannehill and QB has to be our #1 priority this offseason. I think the most ardent Tannehill supporters are out of excuses for this guy. I really wanted Tannehill to finally be the answer since Marino retired, but it is quite apparent he is not the QB everyone is hoping him to be. He just can not elevate his game to the next level. He is what he is - a 7 to 9 win QB. That just will not cut it. I hate to quote Bill Parcells, but I am going to: “If they don’t bite when they’re puppies, they won’t bite when they’re dogs.”

We would've won this game with Alex Smith.

I've seen enough of Tannehill, love his charector and work ethic but he simply isn't a difference maker at the most important position in football.

Gase has such a massive ego, I think he'll roll with Tannehill until the ship sinks rather than admitting he was wrong and looking to upgrade

With Ryan Tannehill at the helm of this team. This organization has been passed by the frickin Jacksonville Jaguars and the Browns also have more talent.

I'm sick of the medoicrity of winning just enough games to not be terrible, but still never actually making the playoffs. Then getting a draft pick around the 10 range and blowing in bust like Devante Parker or Charles Harris.

NO team in the league is better at being average/slightly below average than the Dolphins.

The Dolphins have a lot of issues and it's definitely not all on Tannehill, but its starting to become pretty obvious that Tannehill isnt in any way a part of the solution here either.

Turn on any other game. You got guys hitting people 10 yards deep with regularity. For whatever reason that just doesn't exist anymore with Tannehill. Everything is either within 3 yards of the LOS or a bomb now and then. Yardage comes so hard to this offense. It's brutal. At some point you gotta realize this isn't year 1, it's year 7.

He's more like Chad Henne, plays okay a couple of games but not consistent at all.

Has it really taken seven years to see it? Why are so many people in denial about it?

You can drum up all the GD stats you want but the truth is RT is who he has always been. He’s improved yes. But he remains a huge enigma at QB. He’s a poor mans Alex Smith. Honestly I would take so many QBs before him it’s not even funny.

We can post all the comparative stats from Luck and Dalton and Smith and the rest but it doesn’t matter. RT is not any of them. He’s RT. Right before our eyes.

Guys, remember, I said "lesser" version than Smith, not equal. Maybe "lesser" was too kind.

If Ryan Tannehill was on the Chiefs and Alex Smith was on the Dolphins, Andy Reid would've drafted a first round QB about 4 years ago. And here, us dolphin fans would probably be talking Smith up to be an all world QB.
