Ryan Tannehill & Shelley Smith (2014 all emerge offense)

If Geno is so much better than Ryan why didn't he lead the Jets to more than 8 wins when they had a far superior defense, offensive line, and running game? Ryan has a ways to go to be a top level QB, but the tools are there, and he's clearly become a better QB in his first two years with the Fins. Sure he needs to get better, but he's far from the Dolphin's number one problem. And Geno Smith was hot buttered crap as a QB for the 2013 season.

not hating on tannehill at all...just stating the obvious(unless youre a member of finheaven). didnt wallace himself say we left 15 or more td's on the field this year, wonder who he was talking about. until he wins games like the season finale and gets this team into the playoffs just cut the crap with the franchise or qb of the future bull...

who the hell said smith was better than tannehill??? i said in the season finale with EVERYTHING on the line for miami, smith played with a ton of passion(and really outplayed t-hill) and our franchise qb laid a giant egg. anyone who can dispute that is either in love with t-hill or just in denial.

spare me the all geno smith did crap, he played with fire and determination and the whole jet team fed off of it....tannehill connects on that deep ball to wallace we're up 14-0- GAME OVER!!! everything went downhill after that play. but im one of the very very few people on here who critisizes the GREAT ryan tannehill. the guy can do no wrong and its ALWAYS somebody elses fault. so ill go try my crap somewhere else.

fire and determination huh...that's a new one...geno smith sucked so bad all year all the jets did was go behind him and sign mike vicks corpse to likely take the job for the short term...that's some qb i tell ya...such a vote of confidence from the coaching staff

anyways yeah the missed vertical to wallace that he overthrew was 14-0 and it was a momentum changer...for sure...but to say game over if that play is made is a bit rich...and to say geno carried that jets team if that's what you are implying in that one is even richer

but hey 2 of tannehills picks the wr wallace either slipped coming out of his break or limped in his route after coming off the los throwing off the depth and hanging the qb out to dry...you can think what you want though...i know what's up

the jets biggest pass play in that game was the half back pass to the freaking tight end for gods sakes...wake up boss

Nobody has labeled Tannehill as a franchise QB. The whole premise of the thread is that he's poised to break out. You'd have to be blind to not see that. Young QB. Has shown a lot of promise, has all the tools, and has won several games himself even though he's still relatively green. All with major issues on the team around him. It still may never happen for him, but saying he's poised for a breakout season is absolutely appropriate. You used the Jet game as proof he's not ready to breakout. Every QB has bad games. So???? I 100% agree he needs to win games like that to be considered a star. But he's not an emerging player if he's already done it.

Your just gonna be miserable if Tannehill turns out to be very good and you have no one to listen to you hate on him anymore, aren't you?

being a Boston sports fan, it is understandable why he is hoping/praying for failure

hoping/praying for failure cause im not convinced tannehill will be a franchise qb? wow this place is beyond laughable....i guess if you question if t-hill is gonna be elite youre negative, praying for failure, misearable and should go root for another team. ooooooooook...

Didn't we say this about Henne all those years? "This year Henne will be better" " Henne is better than Sanchez" c'mon, let's hold he stardom talk until the kid wins a few meaningful games.

Agree. But its the off season and nothings happening. Its just an article.

I would say Wallace was responsible for at least a few of those misses. To put it all on T-Hill is wrong. There is plenty Mike can do to up his game. Just like T-hill.

I am not sure who you are or why you are here. But as a Dolphan for 40 plus years, I have a right to hope. I have the right just as do the rest of this forum to be one sided. We are here for a reason. Some are here because they are hoping for a job in sports broadcasting. Some are here because they want to be statisticians. Then some are here for the reason i am here. To support the team and to hope (you pray) that the team is successful.

This forum is far from a homey site. There are all kinds of people here. You are here. So, just because we want to believe, does not make any of us wrong.

I think the truth is between both sides. Tannehill HAS to improve lots of things, like deep throw accuracy, pocket awareness and consistency. That being said he IS better tha Henne and any other QB we've had since Dan the man. I don't know if he will be good enough, but I HOPE he gets better on his third year and I personally have lots of faith in Lazor's system. I think he will do wonders with what we have. Next year I want to see a better version of Ryan Tannehill and a much better game planning on the Ofense. That's all I ask for.

Maybe, but you dont have to **** all over everyone who thinks he could possibility of being a franchise QB. No, he hasnt proved it yet. But that doesnt mean he never will. You act like if we root for him, we already think he's the next marino. get over the fact that some of us have hope.

Tannehill is a sensitive topic. I think that there has been far more praise than criticism. Not sure why any critique of Tannehill calls for a heated debate as if he is flawless. I also believe Geno played the better game that day although I believe Tannehill was the better QB last year.

he has kind of... we beat indy last year, atlanta, pittsburg in bad weather. we beat cinci too but we all know wake sealed the deal, he kept us in it enough though to make wakes sack the game!! i think he is rising and will continue to do so.
