Check this video out, Texas A&M VS Baylor 2011...confirms for me that the Dolphins got the right guy, I would not trade him for RG3 right now.

RG3...28/40 430 YDS 3 TDS/1 INT...12 CAR-15 YDS RUSHING

Tannehill...25/37 415 yds 6 TDS/1 INT.... 5 CAR-55 YDS RUSHING

Equal teams, both ranked in the top 25.......Texas A&M 55 - Baylor 28

I think we finally found our quarterback!

I am happy to have Tannehill, but let's be fair. Tannehill did not directly face RG3, they faced the opposing defense.

Five years from now though, I won't be surprised at all if Tannehill becomes the much better pro.

True, however, A&M had one of the worst pass defenses in the country and frankly, Tannehill just looked alot more like a Pro QB in this game than RG3 did...I saw Professional big time throws from number 17.

Hopefully Bush or Miller can be as efficient as that # 25 (Swope)...

A more realistic comparison imo would be to compare their stats against common defenses they went up against...Kansas St., Iowa St., OSU, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Texas.

RG3: Baylor went 6-2...

Passing: 170 comp, 248 att, 68.55%, 2,606 yards, 10.51 YPA, 20 TD, 5 int, 179.4 QB rating
Rushing: 125 att, 462 yards, 3.7 YPA, 8 TD

Ryan Tannehill: Texas A&M went 3-5...

Passing: 203 comp, 354 att, 57.34%, 2,170 yards, 6.13 YPA, 18 TD, 11 int, 119.4 QB rating
Rushing: 42 att, 189 yards, 4.5 YPA, 4 TD

If only Tannehill could go up against Baylor's defense every week in the NFL!

I go on record and stand by my assessment, Tannehill spent half his college career at receiver and is only scratching the surface on what he will be, he looks more like a big time NFL quarterback to me than RG3, who looks more like a college QB.....we will see!

I hope you are right.

However, to base it on his game against Baylor imo is similar to basing that opinion of when he is practicing against air...Baylor was ranked 118 out of 120 Division 1-A schools in pass defense. They also gave up the most TD passes of all D 1-A schools at 36 as compared to Texas A&M giving up 19 TD passes. Baylor's defense was able to make almost every QB they went up against as being a future all-pro in the NFL.

best thing about it is we got the qb we wanted without having to trade our 2nd round pick and 3rd rounders, we got a bunch of talent in bulk in this draft dolphins made out like bandits.

I think Weeden, GriffinIII, Luck, Tannehill all have the ingredients to be successful, and with different styles.

Yes luck and Tannehill are tough guys, you can see that watching them that they can take off and take a hit, but neither one is going to want to do that at the next level, their athleticism is going to match defenders in the NFL not exceed. RG3 is the only one who's athleticism is still going to threaten the way it did in college at the next level. But I don't think he brings the toughness that Tannehill and Luck do in that regard. Defenders will test that at the next level. Nothing about weeden as an athlete really impresses me in comparison.

I think Tannehill has the ability to memorize a playbook definitely, so does RG3, but do these guys have the ability to understand conceptually their respective offenses? probably. But I think Luck and Weeden may have an edge there. The other two have some nuances to develop and understand a little more whats going on after the snap and why theyre doing what they are.

As throwers all of the guys are impressive. tannehill throws the wideside across his body without replanting his feet on a timed comback. Thats NFL quality right there in a non ideal setting. Weeden makes every throw quick delivery and can throw 40-50 times a game easily if you want him to. Griffin has a rocket and completes 30+ yard deep balls like nothing. Luck is probably the most nfl ready throw ive ever seen. doesn't need to reset, pin point accuracy, great spiral, all the arm strength you want, great anticipation.

I think whichever QB you got, theres something special to work with. Colts miami and browns all got great value, were able to just sit tight and take their guy with a great value pick. only washington had to give up the future for theirs

I'm not overly impressed with RG3 as a Pro Prospect...Great college QB, I think he will get hurt in the Pro's...I saw him many times throw the ball up for grabs...which you can get away with in college with the mismatches you see, he will not get away with it in the Pros.

I love Tannehill as a prospect and believe in a very short time everyone will be talking about what a steal Miami got at pick 8.

I also believe he will start day one here. Knowing the playbook and being comfortable with it is a huge part of the process for a rookie QB.

Im not for him starting day one, but if he's good enough in training camp you play him from day one........

What about that undrafted wr we signed that played with Tannehil?

How did he look in that game?

I've read that he could make an impact right away, I've also read that he didn't play well last season compared to his prior season for some reason.
