Yeah I think all but the most hardened Tannehill fans pretty much realize his deep ball, so far, sucks a fat one.

Random nitpick but why did you use 21+ yards for the 2013 Dolphins and 20+ yards for TA&M? What difference would it make it it was 20+ for the Dolphins?

Feel free to leave out 2012, know you love to leave out stats that help your case buuuut:

2012: 20/51, 43.1%, 671 yards, 3 TD's, 1 INT.

It's a weakness right now. Don't think we can undersell the importance of getting him good protection and another year to assimilate with Wallace.

It's one his biggest problems. In many cases it seems to flutter and the recipient has to slow down and wait for it to come down. A lot of his other throwing is pretty good, but his overall QB status needs to be getting those 20+ yd completions to over 35% for starters.
The other point to reflect on this is that I don't hear any major concerns about Andrew Luck's deep ball or Nick Foles' deep ball, not to mention Ben Roethlisberger's, Peyton Mannng's, Philip Rivers' Tom Brady's or even Matt Stafford's. Maybe it's because Tannehill appears inferior in this parameter, but that is just my perception. I'd be curious to see the comparative data (please don't freak out futurescout - it's a percentage).

He's in Luck's ballpark.

You never miss a chance to dump on Tannehill. I had you on my ignore list and took you off out of the goodness of my heart. We know you hate Tannehill. Jesus!!! When is it enough already? You're a bore, out the door and back on ignore can't take no more! Ta Ta, hater!

There is no doubt that Tannehill's long ball suffered this year. Going back and looking at some Texas A&M film it looks like he threw a lot of his long balls from rollouts. He was able to set his feet, step into it, and let it fly. I don't think there is an issue with his arm or his ability to judge distance and receiver speed. I think he may have a release and or set up problem in the pocket. Should get better with better coaching. If not maybe the haters are right.

From a college scouting report:

...his deep ball and bucket throws tend to be underthrown because he will roll his hips up and fail to transfer his weight properly...
