2. Kenny Stills, receiver: Stills was locked in Friday. He caught a 55-yard deep ball on the second drive and a pair of touchdowns in the first half. Stills finished with three receptions for 71 yards. Dolphins head coach Adam Gase said Stills has been one of the hardest workers on the team this offseason, and it’s showing up on the field. If Stills plays this well during the regular season, Miami will have a potent and dangerous group of receivers.
3. Isaiah Pead, running back: There will be some interesting roster decisions at running back in the coming weeks. Only three or four will make the final cut, and Pead is made his case with 48 rushing yards and a reception for 30 yards. Pead is battling Damien Williams and Daniel Thomas for backup jobs this season.

2. Cornerback: This has been an area of concern for Miami since training camp began. Dallas quarterbacks Tony Romo and Prescott had 107.5 and 158.3 passer ratings, respectively, as the Dolphins’ secondary failed to stick to receivers. No. 1 cornerback Byron Maxwell was beaten several times by Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant, including on a 28-yard touchdown pass. Tony Lippett and Bobby McCain also struggled with their assignments. Help could be on the way. Second-round pick Xavien Howard was taken off the physically unable to perform list and is expected to return to practice this week.
3. Jordan Cameron, tight end: The Dolphins keep waiting for the former Pro Bowl tight end to click, and it remains a work in progress. Gase made a point to get Cameron involved in the offense through his play calling. The first play of the game was a designed pass to Cameron for 5 yards. The second play was a slant and it would have been a touchdown if Cameron hadn't dropped the ball in the end zone. The tight end historically plays an important role in Gase’s offense. Miami needs Cameron to turn the corner sooner rather than later.

dont buy Tannehill stock, defenses stock, CB/LB or TEs stock; better to stick that money in yur mattress

(did i mention not to buy RBs either)

I'm putting every penny in Dallas Thomas stock. When he blows up I'm going to make a killing.

Let's not go overboard. Our D and O looked like **** going against the Dallas starters. Our O started getting better once Dallas started substituting players in. Our D looked like crap against anybody and everybody on the Dallas rooster.

Right now everybody's stock is down incl coaches until we have meaningful drives against starting units - on O and D.

Tannehill hit a 55 yard pass that should have been a 75 yard TD on his 2nd attempted pass.

Not sure why there is so much pead hype...caught a dump off essentially with no coverage anywhere in sight for a huge gain...likely a blown coverage he was so open

The wide huge gain in the run game hell anyone could have run thru that hole...

:idk:

But then again thats a similar skillset to kenyan drake

True to that. But beyond that our offense looked outright putrid. I am not blaming one player here. As a unit we did not look good at all. Did we have the occasional good play? Sure. But it is not about cherry picking some decent play here and there and it is not about blaming individual players. As a unit we looked awful and failed to score against a starting defensive unit again. And that is all what counts.

I am not expecting miracles but at least score a FG.

I sure hope we get better otherwise we have another long season.

On defense: I don't even know where to start. Unless they are playing on purpose that bad trying to fool the NFL they sure got me fooled. Though it being pre-season right now we still look leaps and bounds worse than we were last year.

He showed us that he can look good against college level players who will probably never have a meaningful snap in the NFL. If he does that against a starting unit I may buy into that hype.....until then.....

Not buying stock in either. Both Stills and Tannehill are too inconsistent. Maybe Stills shows up in a contract year but I still won't be impressed.

Also that turnover on downs was reminiscent of the usual not clutch offense that we've become accustomed to

Ya...I mean...Tannehill shoulda caught that pass in the endzone...fkn scrub.

Some people antagonize themselves. I mentioned the failure by the offense not Tannehill. But if you want to get worked up defending a man you don't know despite no attack, go ahead.

You could have said that the TE dropped an easy TD on a good play call, with good protection, and a perfect throw.
