After the Friday Morning Four-Ball matches, Team Europe has 2.5 points to Team USA's 1.5 points. Right now, the Friday Foursomes matches are all square.

Who do you think is going to win the Ryder Cup Sunday Afternoon? I hope Team USA can get off to a quick lead and cruise into a Sunday Victory.

After the Friday matches, Team Europe has 5 points to Team USA's 3 points. Team USA has some catchin up to do.

Seems like the USA always comes up short in International competition....just like the NBA ballers. :shakeno:

The pressure on the 'ol sphinter muscle is huge in these matches.

Bad shots all over the place by US squad as each match came down to 18.

I love the course and think we play better as a squad tomorrow, and as long as we can be no worse than 2 pts down going into Sunday singles I think we have a reall shot to reach 14 1/2 pts and reclaim the cup.

How can anyone root for the USA anyway? The way this team (the majority of them at least) acted in 1999 was embarrassing on every level. Gave USA golf a black eye they still have 7 years later.

Most of the Americans on the team dont' even like each other. While the Europeans are all buddy buddy.

And after 2 days it shows. We are getting it handed to us!

Its ****ing brilliant! Just came back from Ireland, wish I was there to see this. I love the Ryder Cup though it has been pretty much all my team the last few years which makes it enjoyable.

I cannot really explain it, it has to be the looseness of the Euros, cause it looks like the USA team has their sphicter so tight, they couldn't take a crap even if they ate a box of Ex Lax.

Bloody Monty getting to aggresive on the 17th hole otherwise it would have been 10 1/2 to 5 1/2. But as we all know from Brookline it isn't over until we have the 14 points. But looking at the pairings tomorrow it will be a fun one, cause all 24 players are great, I am going to be setting my alarm for 6.00am

here is the pairings for Sunday. (I have put my Euro win/loss projections in)

11:15AM Montgomerie (EUR) vs. Toms (US) Loss
11:27AM Garcia (EUR) vs. Cink (US) Loss
11:39AM Casey (EUR) vs. Furyk (US) Win
11:51AM Karlsson (EUR) vs. Woods (US) Loss
12:03PM Donald (EUR) vs. Campbell (US) Win
12:15PM McGinley (EUR) vs. Henry (US) Loss
12:27PM Clarke (EUR) vs. Johnson (US) Win
12:39PM Stenson (EUR) vs. Taylor (US) Loss
12:51PM Howell (EUR) vs. Wetterich (US) Win
1:03PM Olazábal (EUR) vs. Mickelson (US) Win
1:15PM Westwood (EUR) vs. DiMarco (US) Win
1:27PM Harrington (EUR) vs. Verplank (US) Loss
I see a six to six split tomorrow
What are everyone's predictions for these matches? I think that Europe will get the four, but I don't think it will be a runaway like it was 2 years ago. Though I know Europe is gunning for winning 7 matches tomorrow, as that would be the first time they would have won all 5 sessions.

Lets go Europe!

OK here is my take on this:

You know how all the super rich millionaire NBA players play like crap in international competition?...well it is the same thing here. Why should millionaire U.S.A golfers give it any real effort when there is no money on the line? Do you really think that Tiger Woods waives the red, white and blue flag and wants to win this?? Nahhhh....there is no money on the line. These guys only think about one thing....the green going into their wallet.

That is why the USA doesn't win international events...end of story. :rolleyes2

Got to agree with that summation of why the US is failing in the Ryder Cup.

Its obvious the EUR team are friends where the US team seems to be a collection of indivdual players.

Is that due the the European Tour being of slightly smaller stature than the PGA Tour especially in money terms ? 10th place in many PGA tournaments willl still earn you almost $250k , where is the need for these guys to win ? They will still make millions from what basically amounts to being second rate. To make millions on the European Tour you have to win or be in the top 3 , hence more players with a hunger to win.

Also with the tournaments being in different countries each week the players usually stay in the same hotels near to the courses where the likes of Tiger/Mikelson/Furyk will rent a house and have no interaction with the other players.

As much as I enjoyed the EUR victory I would love for the Ryder Cup to be close with each point being played for until the final holes and going down to the final matches.

Hopefully the next match in 2008 will be as good.
