He said that in the context of still being the Fins coach, what do you expect him to say "Nah, I don't think I'll be the Fins coach next year, I'm negotiating with Alabama !" He said publicly what he had to say...

As to this incident, according to the quotes in the local papers I read, it doesn't sound like any earth-shattering rules violations...It is ironic that the negative press is coming from So. Fla. though ?? I would suspect the same guys that were high-fiving the Fins losses a few years ago as being just as bent on screwing with Saban, even tho he's not here and what he does doesn't affect the Fins...

I get it, being a liar is OK if you can justify it or the situation is difficult.

What did I expect him to say? How about "no comment" or "I'm talking with Alabama, and they've made me an offer, but I haven't decided wether or not to accept it", or something like that.

Once a liar always a liar.

More information regarding the incidents:

"This month several Miami-area high school football recruits accused Saban of inappropriate contact - conversations beyond a greeting are banned in the spring - when Saban visited their schools. Several Palm Beach County players told The Palm Beach Post last week they had also had short talks with Saban."

I suppose all the kids are lying just because they are from Florida schools.

It's a large conspiracy to get Saban.

Total BS. He didn't have to say that. Publically, he could have said he wasn't going to speculate on that until after the season ended instead of saying "I don't know how many times I'm going to have to say it...I'm not going to be the Alabama Coach." You have to love the Saban apologists :rolleyes2
