I've seen the replay 4 or 5 times now and I fail to see why Saban was so upset with the officials. It was a good call and the defender ran right into Watsons face mask slightly turning his head a second before the ball hit him in the A$$. Had he actually been playing the ball it could have been an INT. Good call by the officials on the PI call and that call will be 9 out of 10 times when the defender doesn't turn around and especially when the ball hits him in the back. Saban will see this differently when he looks at the game film and he'll probably ask him self weather he needs an eye exam soon.

Wasnt a good Call, Can clearly see the WR holding Allen. Your a NE fan and therefore biased. I'm a Dolphins fan and again therefore biased. However I know a bunch of people at the bar where I watch the games who have no intrest in the game who thought it was a bad call.

Who cares it was a penalty and possibly the most deciding play of the game. It's over. Miami should have never been in position to have that peanlty ice the game for NE. They gave up 213 yards of total offense and has all of the momentum going into the 2nd half. Miami's inept offense did nothing as usual, that's why the game was lost.

I felt the Pats should have run Dillon more yesterday as Miami was eating Maroney up but Dillon was having success. Everytime Maroney would run the ball it seemed like he would run straight into Traylor or Wilkinson, Miami's 2 largest defenders. I was curious as to why we didn't see more of Corey, but glad we did not.

It was not a good call. Will Allen did turn around and did not see the ball in the air because it was poorly thrown. A defender cannot be penalized for a poorly thrown ball. WR ran into Will Allen to catch the pass. Contact was not initiated by Allen.

hahaha yes he can when he get's in the way of the receiver. I was not poorly thrown, it was underthrown, maybe on purpose, MANY are.

and yes the contact WAS initiated by Allen...the receiver was watching the ball, the defender was not. The reciever slowed to catch the ball and the defender, not seeing the underthrown ball crashes into him and pushes him off the ball. pass interference.

if it was Chambers being fouled in the same manner you guys would be screaming if it wasn't called.

Allen had positioning on the ball and did turn around, any contact made has to be credited to the WR.

Generally when a player has turned around he doesn't get hit in the back with the ball. Had he actually turned around he could have easily picked that pass off. I also disagree that a defender can't be penalized for a poorly thrown ball. If he impeeds the offensive players line to the ball or holds the offensive player or runs into the offensive player while not looking for the ball he can and will most certainly be called for PI no matter how poorly thrown the ball is. Obviously you know nothing about the game. It was a good call and it was the CORRECT call. The tape doesn't lie. :shakeno:

5 dollars to anyone who can coem up with the video of it. i want to see it again.

EDIT: just kidding about the 5 dollars.

Wrong, he never turned around. He mad an attempt to turn his head right at the time the ball hit him in the back. His body was face mask to face mask with Watson who was turned facing the throw and both players were moving in the same direction into the end zone. Christ he bear hugged Watson how can that be turned around? Like I said had he really turned around it would have ben an easy INT.

I've seen the replay 4 or 5 times on the NFL network last night. It was a good call and that is as plain as the nose on your face.

I lost my nose to a unfortunate ballet accident, thanks for bringing it up :shakeno:

I don't know why Belichick didn't run Dillon more as far as I know he wasn't injuried. It could be that he knew you guys were going to take away the run and wanted to save Dillon seeing he's the older of the two and figured Maroney had a better chance of breaking a big one as the dolphins defense grew tired later in the game. I don't think even if we asked Belichick him self that we'd get an honest answer.
