``That doesn't mean that we said that we were drafting him, so if anybody in this organization said that, I would apologize for that because that certainly wasn't our intention. All I can do is speak for myself. I never said that, and it is not an issue with me. I know him and I know his family. I would not do that, and I would not want anybody else in this organization to do that.''

However, it was former general manager Rick Spielman who said that to agent Lamont Smith, who represents Edwards. Spielman wanted Cleveland to believe the Dolphins would take Edwards, thus prompting the Browns to trade up to the No. 2 spot.
Opps Spielman.

Are you kidding me. Apologizing to Braylon. Have Shulters apologize for Saban with a helmet to Edwards chin

It isn't that cool to tell a guy that he is going to be picked 2nd overall in the NFL Draft. That is a massive thing and to do that to him which was what Spielman did was just not classy or needed.
I thought it was Saban that said that to Edwards and that was one thing that I was not so sure on, I'm glad he apologized and I know that it was Spielman.

I am also glad we replaced that moron Spielman with a real GM in Mueller.

Doesn't surprise me. Seems like something Spielman would do. I just wish the Browns would have believed him.

Actually....that was smart of Rick.....everyone thought that Saban played that game...then it was O.K....Smart....now that Saban say's it wasn't him...and it was Rick...it's bad? Sometimes you guy's make me laugh.

Me too. We could have still got Brown plus an extra second rounder.

Braylon shouldn't be such a baby.

Apologize? Please.
