First of all I'm encouraged by what we were able to accomplish in a hostile environment...overall I come away from this game with a good feeling about where we are, which is a mediochre team trying to make the playoffs and perhaps win the division if the breaks go our way. There were a lot of good things to note but I'm going to focus on the negative...

What I am disappointed in is Saban betraying his goal line defense. Are you kidding me he really wanted to over-turn that call - no way. He should have just not thrown the flag at all and plead ignorance. He was disgusted by the defence giving up that big play and decided to give them the touchdown to save the time. Likely the wise call but what message does it give to your defense...?

In my mind the coaches let us down in the 4th Q. Why with 6 minutes left and you are down my 4 do you go shot gun and throw it on every doen is beyond me. The coaches really lost composure in the 4th Q...

Anyone know what happened who was responsible for the H Miller TD...?

Kinda hard at that point to trust a defense that had just given up an 80+ yard play...also, what were the odds that Charlie Batch fumbles the ball again on the 1? Slim to none

Come on man, you can't be serious.

In the mist of it all, Saban was talking to his players & had to wait for the replay to show up on the big screen. As soon as he saw what actually happened, he threw the flag out there. You've gotta be kidding about Saban "giving" up the TD. The previous goal line stand, we came up with a turnover.

I like when Saban chews out the D but I hope we don't get to the point where the D hates him or resents him too soon.

hill decided to go to a linebacker type zone coverage, ignoring his safety duties. now i dont know if he decided to do that, or if that was the play that was written. zach also got mega burned by heath miller.

That was a half-***ed flag throw if I ever saw one... If you're going to throw the flag use your whole a$$.

in the previous goal line stand where we came up with the turn over the clock wasn't dwindling down...

[mod] don't spell out curse words [/mod]

i agree. he gave pitt the td. to me they would have scored anyway, but who knows? batch had just fumbled from the one. thats the big thing, pitt should have had another touchdown. and people blaim daunte and act like its all his fault

To me, you shouldn't have to smack the ref in the head with the flag...amazing how Pitt only had one penalty at that point too. They must have played a really clean game. :(

The guy responsible for the Heath Miller TD was NICK SABAN. His Foot clearly went out of bounds before the ball crossed the goal line. It certainly would have been reversed and the TD taken away. Where the Hell was Saban? He should have had that flag in his hand right off. What he was waiting for to toss it was beyond me. Not making that challange in time was a momentem killer for the Dophins.

I guess Saban didn't listen to Belichick close enough because he would have never let that happen. :shakeno:

Momentum killer?

A TE rumbling 80 yards to the 1 yard line would have been a colossal momentum killer as well. The blown coverage allowing a TE thrown to by a career backup waste of a QB was the true momentum killer.

Yes I also believe Saban botched the challenge but the momentum had already switched at that point.

I was more shocked about the botched challange than the pass to miller.
