I have noticed since the Dophins start winning in the second half of the season that to many people have been praising Saban as the next football God. And now with the acquiring of Culpeper Saban can do no wrong. I think you guys are really setting yourself up for a huge let down. There have been many great coaches and will be more great coaches who coached but never won a superbowl. Look how long it took the Steelers coach. Yes Saban is a great motivator and gets more out of some players than maybe other coaches might. But he is only 9-7 and by acquiring Daute only did what any reasonable sensible coach would have done. To many things have to happen for us to win the big one. I remember when Jimmy Johnson came on board alot of people knew we would win if not 1 but 2 or 3 superbowls. And he is considered a bust. So let's not crown him coach of coaches for maybe another 8-10 years. That is about how long it takes a player to be mark as a future Hall of Fame player. Right now is the Dolphin's coach trying to make is mark. I have been a Dolphin Fan since 1973 when my mom bought me my first Dolphin football uniform from Sears for Christmas so I want to just as bad if not more than next person.

we dont intend to place him next to Don just yet...but you have to get excited about where we are going and we are going there quickly

They are only stating their opinions, like yours they are allowed to have one...

you can't doubt Saban right now just look at all of the moves he has made and tell me he isn't good

I agree. Also, there is the Wanny factor. It's like if you've been starving, and someone gives you a cracker, it's the best cracker you ever had. Right now, Saban is the best cracker I ever had!

I actually agree with you, even though I'm sure you will piss off lots of people. Winning Super Bowls is so hard you could never expect it. I've always said you need a few bounces and calls and other things that are beyond the teams control to win one. You need to have a great football team and some things to fall into place.

Saban is a coach to be excited about. He has one helluva program and is fun to listen to. That being said, I set myself up for a huge let down every year. I expect that the Dolphins will go to the Superbowl each and every year. I tell my friends and I beleive it. Hell, when they are 9-7 with no more games to play and they are out of the hunt, I still believe there is a way to get in. It's called an illness. People are fans, I have an illness. Saban is an awesome coach no doubt about it.

Nonsense.

The other day, I saw Nick Saban fishing off South Beach, literally walking on water. He caught 72 fish barehanded, then parted South Beach, moonwalked back to shore, forgave Ricky Williams, traded for Daunte Culpepper, healed Eddie Moore, and then took a nap.

If that's not God, I dunno what is.

(just kidding about Eddie Moore)

You mean I've been praying for a QB to the wrong guy ??? LOL...seriously, it's only his second season, but he took a team with a history of underachieving, extremely poor talent or at least not a very good balance of talent on the team, and made them winners last season...If anything, as you basically said, they overachieved...well, thats what good coaches do...they take the players they have and make them believe that they can be champions...

No Saban isn't God...that's a pretty high standard, but he's clearly head and shoulders above JJ and Wanny...that much is certain now...

What happens in the future is yet to be determined...but the future does look brighter, no matter how you look at it...

I'm a proud member of The Church of Sabantology....so technically he is my god.
