This team has lost 5 of it's last 6 games and Saban is proud of his players? Where's the Beef? He was brought in as a demanding, workaholic coach that would be tough and relentless on himself, coaches and players. He wanted total control and he got it. Other than make Manny Wright cry during the preseason, what has he done to drive this bunch of underachievers? You got 23 coaches on your staff (the highest in the NFL). You're paid a King's ransom to coach. I think Saban's soft. This season is almost over, and the fans who sellout every game deserve a total accounting of every player on the roster. If Reggie Howard can't cover anybody, If Frerotte is inconsistent, if Linehan is too pass happy, if Heath Evans runs over your defense... do something about it and do it now! Don't make the fans suffer the whole season. It's tough to make tough decisions when you're praisng everyone for losing. Butch up, Nick! let's see some heads roll!

See my thread "Saban Doesn't Instill Confidence." It's an explanation for his soft approach. Watch Tom Coughlin's press conference from yesterday -- it's a study in contrast.

yeah he's soft. He's gotta step up and take responsibility. 1st and goal at the 5 and we can't even get a yard closer to the endzone. He hasn't instilled any fire into this team. He needs to knock out Linehan at the goal line and run the ball 4 times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and the players complained that he was too tough (when he coached the Jags), can imagine what these same players would say if they played for Vince Lombardi.

he is building for the future and we have played hard, we are more competitive, and to blast individuals in the media will not build confidence.
Bottom line is we need playmakers. He handles all critisism in the locker room

Well I think Saban knows he has a bad football team. I usually take up for him in these situations but this time... I have to agree with you. Poor play (and poor play calling) CANNOT be tolarated any longer. I just think Nick is going to honker down and ride this season out. Expect big changes after the season is over...I HOPE! :fire:

Have you or any other attended team meetings? How about practices? Hmmm, what about the penalty problem we had? Let Nick do his thing, it isn't producing wins this year, but have faith, and you will be rewarded in the future.

Could anybody after the year tally up how many times Coach Saban has said the word "consistency" or "consistant" for the 2005 season. It has become quit annoying to hear him game after game say it and still we see the same things every game. Gus is consistantly bad. Chambers consistantly drops catches. Linehan consistantly shys away from the running game. Howard consistantly gets beat by WR's. If Saban isn't getting the consistancy that he wants then maybe he should start making changes. That will be the day.

focus on the process not the results fools....your too result oriented at this point..

It's not even all on poor execution and play. This was not a great team coming into this year. It wasn't going to be a playoff team even with Saban in house this year. So why is everyone SO surprised we're 3-6. Sometimes the reason for the poor play and bad execution, is because better teams are beating you. The talent on this team is so overrated at times it's ridiculous. We as dolphin fans, as would any fans of their teams, overrate their players.

I just don't think there is AS MUCH talent on this team as many others do. There are alot of holes and until those holes are addressed, it's gonna be a struggle. I have 100% confidence in Nick and he will get this thing turned around. Be patient.

Both the process and the results stink.

Neither are impressive at this point. His process of allowing Linehan to call boneheaded plays result in losses too often.
Saban need to heed some of his own philosophy.

I agree RB. This is all for the future and I believe in Saban. But I'm not comfortable with his universal tactic of positive reinforcement for all his DBs.

He chooses not to criticize howard no matter what. I think Saban is a
little overconfident in his teaching skills. It works well in college because they're kids.

Lumps of unmolded clay. But in the pros, it's too late. What you see is what you get. They're not going to get better. With the exception of H.Houck & our

OLine (it's a unit dependent thing), you can't teach a below average
player to automatically be above average.
