Make no mistake about it. Saban is building a team. Maybe even a monster. I got caught believing the hype when Daunte signed on. But what Saban did in benching him (I think), proves that he is preparing ground for a solidly built team now and in the future. Things don't look so hot now, but we are getting better. Second year + new bunch of players + new coaches = a whole lot of crap that needs to be figured out. A process but you can see some good things forming every game. :dolphins:

yeah, you'll see! this will be a whole different team in 10 years! :sidelol:

We have the talent, Saban/Capers(not as bad)/Mularkey arn't coaching well. With good coaches we would be alot better.

No disrespect intended, but the coaches don't open the holes, pass-block, remember snap counts, do press coverage or run elusively. We don't have anyone on the team right now who can do any of the above.

And you know what, Saban holds himself and the other coaches just as accountable as the players. He has never once pointed fingers even though he could have in alot of these situations because the players are obviously not performing at the highest level. I like the fact that Saban is taking a little heat for the C-Pep thing, because it just shows that he got caught up a little bit in thinking that Daunte was completely healthy that he got away from his plan, which was to play Joey to begin with.

while i dont agree with who he has played this season, you can tell hes building a defense. people dislike roth for some reason...i think hed be doing a better job the KC and the whole side of that line if he was to start. the young dts, crowder, and the continued development of a young secondary should make for another solid fins D when the retire; which is hopefully soon. looks like well get some good draft positioning as well to build up the Oline and get a solid cover corner.

You just don't see any of the really good teams now days built over night. Most of the good offenses and defenses out there have played together for a while. I think we have the potential of becoming a powerhouse because Saban surrounds himself with good people and committed players much like Belichick. I would rather have a strong team like New England has been than a one hit wonder.

i do get the sarcasim on this thread. however i do not find it comforting at all.

Well at least we'll have an offensive coordinator for more than a year.LOL
Norv,Forrestor,Linehan. I doubt anyone will be lining up to snatch Mulararky.
That is unless Saban poop-cans him.

I am not doubting what you are saying. I do think coach Saban is doing and excellent job turning over the roster. However, I really thought Saban was trying to load up to make a run for the SB this year. Coming off of a a six game win streak and getting what he thought at the time was a top-notch QB he then focused on adding veteran depth rather than just going with a youth movement. That is why he signed Beasley, Harrington, Shelton, Pearson, Peele, Wilkinson, Hodges, Newman, W. Allen, Goodman, Hill, Cooper (probably missing a few others). I really believe he thought this team was ready this year or our roster would be a whole lot younger.

I agree here - if we were truly building here the DT rotation wouldn't be Wilkinson, Traylor, Holiday and Zgonina. Where the heck is Vickerson and Evans? They don't deserve a chance - how the heck will they get experience? Wouldn't a bit of youthful energy help out about now!

I agree with Saban still building a team, I think the one thing he needs still though is HIS QB, yeah he got Joey and Daunte, but that doesn't mean that's the QB He wants forever I think(This is just my opinion) he is waiting for this years draft to get the right QB(Jemarcus Russell for instance) because Russell played for him in college
