Ok guys list one mistake you think Saban has done since he took over this team..

I think it was the ronnie draft pick .Don't get me wrong he is good player but not a top 5 pick..

I totally disagree. Ronnie is a stud who would be tearing up yards if teh o-line blocked, and the pass game worked. He had 90 yards against a majorily 8 man fronts. He is getting his yards mostly on his own. I would take Ronnie knowing what I know #1 overall.

The biggest mistake by Saban at this early juncture would have to be IMO, Not improving the o-line.

Ronnie was a good pick.

Largest mistake (OBVIOUS): Culpepper over Brees

However, NS has done a LOT of good things while he's been here. I have faith he'll do the right thing with CP and the team.

GO PHINS~!

The flag tossing incident. It was all his fault.

However, he would not admit to his mistake.

So that's two I know about.

I think he made a mistake in thinking Culpepper was physically fit to play this soon.

But i say he is worth that pick. Any other back save a few would not be running as well as Ronnie. Only LT, Alexander, LJ, Edge would be doing better or equal to Ronnie. Ronnie has seldomly had any holes to run through, yet he gets positive yards. Many times he gets 3 or 4 yards just lowering his shoulder and driving for teh yards, that is indicative of a great runner, get what you can when nothing is there. and there hasnt been anything there.

His biggest mistake is assuming Houck would be able to mold a bunch of below average linemen into serviceable, consistent blockers. If he was not going to upgrade, he should have stuck to the core of linemen we had last year instead of starting basically from scratch.

Also, it seems the team is lacking fire in games. They just seem to be "going through the motions". Not sure I want to chalk this up to Saban, but having the team mentally prepared and fired up for the game PARTIALLY falls on the coached shoulders.

Im trying to be really open about this but I just can't think of anyone who you would have picked instead? Benson, Cadillac, Edwards, Rodgers maybe Merriman? But without Brown who would be running for us? No I think Brown was the right decision, we just have to get better in the Oline and better in calling plays and get balanced overall.

But hey to answer the original thread I would have to say not getting a real talent in Oline.

A future Qb

And what future QB was available at #2 that would have been worth taking at that point? Thats right, no one.

By far not upgrading the o-line with real talent. He thought Houck was a good enough coach to be able to mold below average talent to perform at a higher level. I think the signing of L.J. Shelton was a mistake too. He is worse than McIntosh.

Randy Mueller is a joke. Ive been saying it since we hired him. This year's draft and free agency proves the point. Saban is a brilliant Xs and Os coach but his flaw is he believes in his system so much he doesnt pay enough attention to getting the right talent for it

Thats a good point. I believe that too.
