Thanks for the heads up. Going to check it out now. :)

Good- he shouldn't have been. I would've had a coronary right there on the sideline after that pass interference call on Bell.

It's nice and all that the league apologizes, but there should be some system of redress and restitution for bad calls that lose teams games.

The officials get to make mistakes seemingly without consequence, while tems have to live with their losses caused by bad calls and that's it - tough luck.

Saban was right, the officiating has been ridiculous. Especially the call that he was so mad about. But overall the officiating has been sub-par this year.

That would have been ludacris if he got fined.

i agree i think they should start fining refs or suspending them without pay depending on how bad the infraction is, that way they'll make sure they actually think about what they're doing before they pull out the yellow hankie

on monday, i believe saban said that the NFL had apologized for 5 bad calls against the secondary.

im sure the deep one on daniels against the pats that changed the game was one of them.

this is really tough on the CBs. they aren't very good and on top of that, they are getting screwed. the reward they get for good play is a penalty

I agree, it's about time a coach in the NFL called out for Refs to be held accountable.

The art of officiating is in a downward spiral and they need to do something to turn this around.

I can't believe the NFL actually admitted to the bad calls.
Maybe a step in the right direction.

not sure what they can do. should the refs be fined?

the refs try their best. they are only part-timers. the good ones...or better ones get rewarded to call the playoffs. i can't imagine that there are better guys out there really.

college refs are a clear step down, imo.

i also think the NFL makes it very hard for these guys to call games. pass interference rules are crazy. can't touch a guy after 5 yards? how is a ref supposed to be consistent on that without ruining every game

for replays, i think there should be an official up in the booth who is an expert at it and only he makes the calls. its very tough to make those really close calls for guy sitting under a drape staring a little moniter with 70,000 people screaming at him to get it right. i would just freeze and wouldnt be able to think. having a calm, detached observer up in a booth would be a better way, imo
