This is an exerpt from the Coach Saban's Columm on the dolphins insider regarding the choice of play calling. Sorry if this has already been posted.
Queston-Coach I know a lot of people are asking the same thing so I will ask it too: 2 weeks in a row you are inside the 10 yard line and throw the ball. If Ronnie Brown is your best offensive weapon, and he's averaging almost 5 yards per carry, why not give him the ball?
Sabans Answer-I think there is probably a great argument for that at third-and-two against Atlanta. But with the first-and-six at the six yard line against New England, we discussed whether we should try to break a run. But realy when you look at it, the Patriots blitzed us every time, four times in a row. So probably if we had run the ball on any of those downs we would have had a difficult time getting a hat on a hat. A lot of the runs we would have called would have become throws when we saw what they were doing on defense. Thats the technical answer to the question. The results we have goten on the choices and and selections that we made were not what we wanted, and I know its disappointing to a lot of people and its very disappointing to us. We just try to analyze and do our due diligence to figure out what would be better for us to do next time.

Sounds like he wanted a run in the Atlanta game but thinks the calls last week were OK. It also sounds like Scott checked with Saban before the pass call and Saban gave the Ok to throw it.
