It appears the confidence Saban has had in Gus is starting to fade. A reporter was asking saban a question by saying "You've said that Frerotte is your guy...." and saban cut him off and replied " I didn't say that Frerotte was my guy ...You are saying that Frerotte is my guy" Not exactly a ringing endorsement if you ask me. Gus for one more half and if he still stinks it up look for Rosenfels that is my prediction.

QBs in question: Saban was quick to correct a reporter who could barely finish a question Friday about the Dolphins' quarterback situation. The reporter, attempting to ask how Saban would deal with an in-game change at quarterback, prefaced the question by saying, "You've said already that Gus Frerotte is your guy... "

"I didn't say that Frerotte was my guy," Saban interrupted. "You are saying that Frerotte is my guy based on me not wanting to go down the slippery slope of letting (reporters) create a quarterback controversy. I say that everybody on the team has a responsibility and obligation to do their job well... if that doesn't happen, we would consider the competition and put ourselves in the best chance to be successful down the road."

Quarterback controversy, anyone?

What's the controversy?? Gus is not getting any better than we already knew he was. Saban wanted to at least have some chance of winning this year so he brought in a player who might squeak a few through for him. That's pretty much it, it's not like Gus was Saban's handpicked saviour for the Dolphins offensive woes. He's just a warm body that might not hurt you with turnovers.

that didnt quite work out.

There isnt really any change in what Saban is saying. He's never said anything along the lines of being stuck on Frerotte, and I'm almost certain he's gone out of his way at every strage of the game to say that it's not Frerotte for any sake other then he thinks Frerotte gives us the best chance to win.

Why don't the coach just say if Gus doesn't play well in the first half he gets to watch Sage in the second. Hey coach, tell it like it is.

If you havent noticed Saban loves his smoke screens.

we should just get either phillip rivers or a guy in the draft

I like that quote a lot better than what we were talking about yesterday. That's all I want to hear. As long as he isn't defending gus, I'm happy.

I think we all know that Gus is not our QB of the future. He is in, to hold us over till we draft or trade for one.

I dont even think that would change if Sage came in either. He has had a eye on Lemon and I am some what interested to see what he can do.

Here is what sucks. I know that the QB situation in this draft wasn't all that great, but now we have to think about another losing season next year grooming a rookie QB.

I want to enjoy the games for what they are this year, but if our QB of the future is not Sage, we have another long season to look forward to next year.
