Saban realigns offensive line

My best guess is:

Starters:
LT Shelton
LG James
C Hadnot
RG Anderson
RT Carey

2nd string:
LT Damien McIntosh
LG Joe Toledo
C Wade Smith
RG Seth McKinney
RT Mike Pearson

This leaves what? 2 other open spots for people to compete? What do we traditionally keep? 12?

I agree, 'cept I don't see Pearson beating out Alabi.

A healthy Pearson could beat out Carey...but hes just an injury waiting to happen.

We typically keep 9-10 players on the OL. 11 at the most.

Any reports on Tony Pape? I recall hearing that he showed up for mini camp in great shape and motivated after giving up football last year.

Woow That Oline can do damage and open up some more holes for Ronnie to run into

You serious? Pearson isn't a stud, but he has proven himself in the NFL. Alabi has shown me flashes of talent, and is Houck's little project. But I don't think he has shown me enough to make me think he can out-perform a capable NFL starter. Not saying he can't, but let's just wait and see. As of now I put Pearson ahead of Alabi.

It's not really that. It's just that Anthony Alabi is a project Houck is commited to. If Anthony gets cuts, and somehow makes it past the wire and onto our PS, that will definitely hinder his development, and that's something neither Houck nor Saban would want.

some of you don't realize how good pearson was before his injury, in his first 2 nfl seasons with the jags he only let up a pair of sacks in both seasons and with him out of their lineup fred taylor's rush average dropped from around 4.7 to around 4

Normally, it's about 9 OL (NFL average I think) Outside of a dedicated LT; (IMO) the remaining OL will be combo Olmen, C/OG or OG/OT. The only guys I see safe from cuts are Hadnot and Shelton.

The Cary question.
Cary better show something or he'll be traded, seriously going into his 3rd year in the league and hes NOT a fulltime starter? (1rd OL should be plug and play)

Alabi? Since Toledo was picked, I have my doubts about Alabi.

The rest of those guys gotta earn it
