I remember all these idiot fans saying Ronnie was a bust after two games. It turned out he just needed some TIME and now he is a beast. Apparently these impatient fans haven't learned their lesson because now they are all over Saban and his first season isn't even in the books yet! This is just insane. Saban will be exactly like Ronnie... they are two rookies who need time to adjust. For saban, this means a marked improvment next year and a playoff run in 2007. It is all that can be expected after Wanny sh*t on us for five years straight. Everyone who has observed practices or is involved in the franchise are convinced that Saban is the answer... AND HE IS. so shut up

Thanks for saying it man, somebody had to say it

I mean come on, Nick Saban's overall career record in football is 240-163-3

I agree with you, but maybe you should calm down and not worry about other people's opinions. Relax! Beer usually helps!

Easy partner. Saban is proven at every level.. Ronnie while playing well right now, is not the game changing player worthy of a number 2 pick and 20 million bucks. Your analogy is not a good one since Saban is proven and Ronnie is just paid.

And what excatly do you base that on??? What would he of had to do so far this season to make him worth that pick? Or who in the draft should we have gotten that would make this team better right now???

You've lost your mind. Ronnie was "proven" in college just like Nick. Ronnie is also proven in the NFL now -- he is tearing it up. I frankly think that he is the best decision we could have made at #2. If you had a better idea, I WANT TO HEAR IT. Who would you have picked up?

bro you need to drink a tall glass of shut up juice!

Relax, "have a coke and smile"

Exactly what has Saban proven as an NFL head coach? That he knows how to point fingers directly at individual players while at the same time saying that there is no finger pointing on this team. Or, that he isn't willing to override an OC that has cost us games by continually not putting the ball in his playmakers hands? Or, is it perhaps that he drafts a RB with the #2 overall pick knowing that the OC he has hired won't actually use him?

Please tell me what he has proven, because it certainly isn't the capacity to win a game because we have witnessed some losses that I will put squarely on the coaching staff.

Onto Ronnie:

Exactly what has he proven in the NFL or in college? In college, he proved that he could not unseat Williams and be the dominant go to #1 back. In the NFL, he still has that tag as RW is splitting carries evenly with him. He hasn't proven that he has the ability to take over a game and score touchdowns.

Now - after all that - I do think Saban has the right intent, but he is learning also. Also, I like Ronnie and think he is a good back. Having said that, and more to your point, neither one of them have proven anything at this level.

the bottom line is that both have alot to prove. I honestly wasnt to happy about the saban hiring but i am cool with it now. Honestly I think this guy is so driven by football he will succeed. As for ronnie he will be the real deal when he can literally take over a game like ricky has done in the past and carry the rock 25 to 30 if need be!
