Gus is really the only thing we have right now.

I'm not ready to jump on the Sage bandwagon yet
Yeah, he threw a TD in his first snap, he did the same thing last year against the Ravens and ended up throwing 3 INTs the rest of the game.

I'll be ready if Gus turns Tiger Stadium into a fish market though

"FRESH DOLPHIN GUTTED" :rofl3:

Starting Sage at this point basically means throwing in the towel for the season. I still think we have a chance (slim chance mind you) at sneaking into the post season.

A couple more loses then yes, throw in Sage just too see what you have there.

I've been saying all week I feel Saban will stick with Gus by starting him this Sunday, I'm not surprised a bit by this decision.

you could hardly blame gus totally for what went on last week--the D sucked and were on the field too much. Personally i think Gus has done as much as he is capable of, which has not been that bad really. he is only a stop gap though and what disappointed me was the fact that we did not draft a QB for the future. i suppose we needed help in so many places that Saban had to draft the best players available

i feel that saban wants gus to pad his crappy stats by having a good game vs the woeful saints and saban will think the controversy is gone for a while b/c knowing saban he will blame falcons/pats defense, our ol, our receivers, our rb's, our defense, our special teams for gus sucking in both of those games.

and then saban keeps gus in cause we play the crappy browns and the cycle repeats it self throughout the end of the season.

we are stuck with gus throughout the whole season, which is the wrong move. sage should have started this week.

I am not surprised either. This is Linehan's offense and he feels comfortable with Gus.

It might not be fair to Sage but thats the way it is.

Frerotte knows he's on a short leash. Saban wants to see how Gus performs when the pressure is on. This weekend is do or die for Gus.

stop defending gus you gus lover.
so the lions gave up on the season when they benched joey.
so the bills gave up on the seaosn when they benched losman.
so by your crappy logic, if sucky *** can't hit the side of teh barn gus gets benched, according to you, the season is over.

dont accuse this guy of knowing nothing about football. he just stated his opinion and since he sees that gus sucks unlike you, i bet he know more about football than you.

Starting Gus Frerotte is telling the fans that we are just playing out the string and hoping to get a high draft choice so we can draft a real QB. The guy just isn't getting the job done...his over and under throws are hurting the team. I thought Sage should have been given a chance to play last year and this year I feel the same way. He sees the field better and seems to be able to hit the open receivers...something Gus hasn't been doing for the exception of a game or two. Roenfels played better than Feeley or Frerotte this past pre-season and deserves a chance to play in my opinion. Simply put...anything would be an improvemnt over what we have seen the last two years and drafting a QB next year is a MUST!!! :D

I want Sage as well. But what Saban is doing makes sense. A) we are not a the all important critical juncture just yet, Gus isnt the major reason we are losing, he just is an important piece in why we havent been winning (there is a diff). he is a vet. Sage is really inexperienced, so there will be growing pains. Saban is not ready to concede to that yet. He is patient in as far as working towards his plan. he thinks everything thru and will make sure that if he switches qb, he is sure that that will change our fortune.

If Gus keeps missing opportunities, Sage will get his shot, but not until Saban is convinced that is what will turn things around.
