Saban Still Lying! / Fallout from Comments (Merged)

Yeah, blame it at the friend. :lol: I wonder who this "friend" is. :rolleyes:

I first caught wind of this Monday evening...the whole thing is somewhat taken out of context, really. If you hear the recording he was just re-telling a story over what sounded like dinner. He was being unknowingly taped.

No, but if Les Miles saved the family pet and put out the fire in time to save the house, Nick Saban would tell Luther Davis it was all because of him.:lol:

Yes. Quoting someone in a story isnt the same as saying it yourself. These arent his feelings or words, it's someone else's. Also, the word coonass doesnt appear to be a racial slur, despite how it sounds. People are blowing this out of proportion because they hate Saban and want to pile on.

It is a slur.

This comment got all the attention and media uproar because some jumped the gun and assumed it was a slur against african americans. This would incite calls for his resignation and thousands marching on Tuscaloosa calling for his head.

Now that people realize it was a slur against another group of people, it won't matter. Everyone will sigh in relief and everything will be ok.

Such a funny world we live in.

Yeah, I'm really tired of the whole PC thing.

I'm not offended by the comment at all. Hell, around here we call ourselves that.


I don't care what Saban calls Louisianians or LSU fans. Just as long as he knows what's coming his way on November 3rd.

It's debatable whether it's a slur or not. I mean Reagan said it during a speech so it cant be that bad. The people who it refers to consider it a term of ethnic pride. Some may find it offensive, absolutely, but it isnt as clear cut as the N word.
