Some Miami players have played on teams where coaches have accepted responsibility for either making mistakes or not doing the best job preparing the team. But players who have been with the Dolphins for years were surprised by Saban's remarks because they never heard former coach Dave Wannstedt take responsibility for much of anything.

Very good sign. I noticed JJ and Wanny NEVER took responsibility for failures. It was always someone else fault. Whereas, a coach like A. Reid comes out and says stuff along the lines of 'its his fault, he is in charge, the loss is on him and he'll work to bounce back.' Its worked for the Eagles.

He just seems to have a perfect attitude as a coach and for this team. I think the Dolphins have a great future ahead of them.

Simply not true. They basically said the same to the press as Saban did many times. The difference seems to be he took responsibility in PRIVATE.

With that said/typed I agree, that is a GREAT thing for Saban to do with his team.

Saban is an awesome coach! We'll rebound and be better sooner rather than later IMO.

This is another refreshing aspect of Saban's coaching style. Let's hope it has an impact on the way his team plays this Sunday. It is going to be a test to see how a Saban coached team responds to a loss.

Saban is a leader...this is what leader's do! Its the same in sports as in many workplaces people try to downplay there own "role" in failure and step up to the plate when things go good....the fact he did it behind closed doors shows he's not "playing to the media"...he's a true leader. The best thing about Saban is he's not just good a t coaching he's good at life.

I think the coaching staff will be putting in some OT this week to come up with an effective game plan against Carolina.

Whether private or public I never heard JJ or Wanny blame themselves for anything. Maybe they have, once or twice, however, I never heard them take on blame.
