Im so sick of this bull regarding the red flag incident. Everyone saying its Saban's fault for not throwing the flag fast enough. Well, lets see here.

Q Is there a time limit imposed on throwing a red flag?

A Yes. You have to throw it before the next plays snap.

So, you're telling me that when Saban threw the flag before the snap for the extra point, he threw it exactly when he was supposed to, not late? It still counted when he threw it.

Thats absolutely correct.

Just because he was waiting for validation from upstairs on if he was going to waste a time out or not should NOT penalize a team from getting the review. He was given 45 seconds to throw the flag. whether he throws it with 44 seconds left or with 1 second left, THE PLAY SHOULD STILL BE REVIEWED

The refs knew this was a possible reviewable call and they ignored Saban. Nick even had enough time to walk out onto the field with half of the players and coaching staff before the kick went off.

Now you go ahead and tell me that wasn't enough time to notice.

go listen to Sabans PC..he tells us what went on....and why... and what has not been done about it.

Gimme a break. Saban can chew out his players, screaming from the sidelines, but he can't be bothered to yell for the ref? IMO, Saban thought the Fins DESERVED to be scored on with that breakdown, not that I disagree, but a coach is not supposed to give up. He threw the flag, and just stands there pointing at it, NOT SAYING A THING!!!!

WHY ISN'T HE SCREAMING FOR THE REF? Last night was a joke in the 4th quarter.

Not his fault, but what was he waiting for? But the flag was one the field before the snap so I dont get it

Walt Coleman is a COMPLETE disaster. He butchers every game that he touches. I don't understand why/how he is in the league. On top of that, he gets all the big games.

thats so stupid.i swear there is something between the refs and the steelers:wink:

but that was bs

He threw it behind the ref...and knew there was no way he was going to see it before the snap. He should've made an effort to get his attention.

Yes, Sabn did throw the red flag before the ball was snapped but if you break it down... we gave up an 86 yard catch instead an 87 yard TD on the FIRST PLAY of that drive. And yes even if they did challenge it, we definitely would've won it but then it'd be first and goal inside the 5 or less with 4 tries... yes I would rather have the opportunity to try and hold them to a FG but the refs didn't cost us the game.

I didnt say that what happened made us lose. The refs didnt cost us the game. Also, maybe it wouldn't even have been a field goal. We stopped them at the one the last drive and they fumbled it. We recovered.

All im saying is, regardless if you argue that saban threw it late, or that the ref didnt see it, or saban didnt shout. None of that matters. Because your not SUPPOSED to have to shout. Your not SUPPOSED to have to throw it at the Refs head.

The rules are your SUPPOSED to throw it before the next snap. And Saban did. And the refs messed up. Big time.

Im sick of there being no accountability for these refs. They make mistakes over and over again and never get chewed out for it.

Ridiculous
