No transcripts up yet but Saban said today in his PC that it is still a day to day thing with Culpepper he's not being put on IR yet regardless of what the media is saying and he wants to see him get some playing time on the field as soon as possible.

Seems like we will be seeing Culpepper back on the field before the season is over so we can put to rest the IR rumors for now.

good, im telling you, people are makin a big deal of him being sore..of course he will be sore, its natural, hes not hurt. i still think he'll play vs the vikes. what better then to come back all rested and with more mobility against his former team?

Saban stated that there will be a cut-off point in the season, and whenever that point is reached, he will then make the decision to place Culpepper on IR. I'm thinking that cut-off point will be reached this Sunday....

PHINZ RULE!!!!!

he wants to see him play so we can decide what to do via draft or else we wont be able to draft a quinn and net thing u know DC next year is horrible and we get Screwed. hence, hes gotta play...

That could be but I really think Daunte is our QB regardless. He is a great player when healthy and we just need to be patient with his knee. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise that we started the way we did so Daunte could get back to full strength. It really is a 2 year injury.

Nice find. When I read Nick's transcripts from yesterday that was indeed the feel I got. He brought up how during practices during the bye week, Culpepper looked a lot better than he had before but that the rehab was flaring up his patella tendon every now and then and on a day to day basis he misses some practice because of it.

It really sounded like Nick was genuinely eager to get him back on the field.

You do have a valid suspicion. Saban may want to see if DC can ever recover, but it might also be to gauge Joey who has a short term bloating contract.

If Culpepper looks better than he did before then why did Saban freaking start the season with him.

I can't wait to see Culpepper back out there. God I hope he's a little more mobile, but any live action this year should be good for him next year to clear off rust if anything.

Because you don't know until you see how it works on the field. He wasn't benched because his knee was hurting. He wasn't even benched because his shoulder was hurting.

He was benched because his style of play was not meshing well with the limited mobility in his knee and it was creating a situation where he was being put on the ground something like 40 times (officially) in 4 games.

Had it been 20 times in 4 games, he'd still be playing.

So, how do you know, just looking at him in practices where he's not allowed to be hit? How do you know, in preseason reps when defenses aren't blitzing us constantly as they were in the regular season?

How do you know period, until it happens?
