Yes this is what I have been talking about. Vick is not experienced at WR like some of the other guys . . . everyone knows that . . . but he probably has more upside than any other young player (not just WR) on this team. Everybody keeps talking about the PS, man if we attempt to put Vick on the PS, I really feel he will get claimed by another team. It is not worth the risk.
Let's think about this for a second. Like I have said before, we probably only carry 5 receivers. With us having most likely a packages with 2 TE's in (Radar, McMike), and Beasley comming out the backfield along with Ronnie Brown, Sammy Morris and Travis Minor. . that is 6 pass receiving options, to go along with the top 4 receivers. IMO that is 10 options ahead of the number 5 receiver. Everybody acts as if this number 5 guy is gonna get tons of oppurtunities. That person will pretty much be a non factor at WR this upcomming year with all the other options we are carrying on this team. Gibson is intriguing because of his height and some of the seperation he has been able to get . . . but Vick will contribute much more than Gibson this year on Special Teams alone. Not to mention he will get reps in a game and teams will automatically have to focus in on him more because of what he can do. He is more dangerous than Gibson, trust me. And to have the option to be giving him reps at QB in practice . . thats just an added bonus . . were talking about a kid who could straighten up and get some serious value for . . . or a kid who could eventually be our number 2 QB in a few years . . . again "more upside than any young player on this team". Nick, u have to find a way to keep this kid on the team!!
