Impact]Saban has many good qualities, but 1 of which is perhaps better then the rest, and that is,bringing the best out of players.Gus and Chambers
Impact]both had the best season of there career this year,I don't think this is a coincidence. This spreads out in many different directions as far as rookies playing and developing faster or free agents with issues , (like a T.O. for instance.) Many Fin players didn't want Ricky back, but Saban brought him back anyway, and was very successful with him and with getting the other players to accept him as a team member once again.
Impact]I believe Saban will have the same affect on T.O. , Saban will bring out the best in him and in turn will allow the players to accept him on our team.
Impact]I was a bit critical when Saban 1st joined up and let Surtain go and a couple of other good players, but there is a method to his madness
Impact]and I have complete faith in whatever Saban does, his offseason work on replacing our O.C. and the addition of Capers just solidfies that.
mpact]Capers is another coach who brings out the best in his defense with what he has to work with, There is high expectations on my part this year with the coaching staff alone, but after free agency and the draft,I think this team will be dominant in all phases with the addition of a few good players. This team has a very good chance of turning into a dynasty under the reigns of Saban and Capers.IMHO I don't think a new QB or keeping or shipping off Ricky will impact this team much, Saban will make the best decision and will be successful whatever path he decides to take. Some may disagree with this, but if Trent Dilfer can win a championship, I believe Gus can to!!!! Do we need a young QB? Certainly, but Saban is so smart ,if he has to work with Gus for another season to strengthen the biggest weaknesses 1st through free agency and the draft this year I have
Impact]no problem with it, We can win with what we have, especially with the addition of a couple of O. Linesman,LB, DB and possibly T.O. !!!!! More then likely Saban will keep Ricky, I would, with him and Ronnie in the backfield at the same time, it's a wrecking ball for defenses, because both are not only running threats but also both have great ability catching balls.Ricky,Ronnie,McMike,CC and possibly T.O. on the field at the same time is absolutley frightening!!!!

As much as I respect Saban, no one can bring out the best in T.O. I would be surprised if T.O. would want to follow Saban's rules.

Dominant is way too strong in my opinion. The o-line and defense will not be dominant this season and only a maybe next season.

I definately agree except a new QB, especially a rookie, could hurt in the short term depending on the adjustment period required.

Gus had the best year of his career?

I'm no math major, but how come his career averages went DOWN this year?

Gus peaked about eight years ago. And anyone whose "Best year" gives them a 71 rating and is one of the fice or six worst qbs in football... well, "best" isn't a good way to describe them.

I think Saban is a perfect coach for us, he will do alot for the team, but I dont think anyone can get TO to just play football. Too much of a drama queen

Dominance is relative to what is accomplished by each side of the ball...Miami's defense can't be dominant next year? They surpased a team record with something like 49 sacks, which was also close to leading the NFL.Now acquire another LB,DB and safety, and maybe a DT and they can be dominant. As for the offense, Gus surpassed his touchdown numbers since he's been in the NFL,and thats with missing a couple of games.I consider that his best year since that 1 good year as a Redskin. After 1 year under their belt and another year of drafting and free agency this team can be dominant, If winning 6 games in a row isn't considered close to dominance I don't know what is....
Its shown time and time again that a system can make a team better not always having the best players, you look at the patriots defense, denvers running game,Has Denver had the same RB and OL the last 7 years or so?
No, it's the system, and the longer a player is in a system the better it runs.
Now the Dolphins are a Nick Saban system, and we have just scraped the surface of things to come.
Bring on T.O., Saban will bench him with a quickness if he acts out,What will T.O. be worth then? Very few people will want a 3 time loser,so he would be screwing himself if he started his mess here.Saban runs to tight of a ship to let T.O. sink it.

If Saban takes on TO, you can bet there will be issues as some point in time. It's a given and nothing the man has done or said since the Philly fiasco has indicated any change. The issue with TO is one thing and one thing only...MONEY. That is all he cares about. Now, he is a great player when he wants to be, but has admitedly slowed down when he felt he wasn't getting the treatment he wanted (in SF, not in Philly that I am aware of). I just can't see him coming here because, even with incentives and such, the Fins won't break the bank for him and he won't be happy unless he does...

Let me remind all that yes, he may come with a cheaper cap number, but he won't be cheap unless he does absolutely nothing on the field for us. There will be multiple LTBE incentives and not LTBE incentives in his contract. That would mean that while he may be cheaper for us this year, when the incentives kick in, he'll be very expensive. (Check back to what Boston cost us. He was cheap to sign, but we paid him over $3 mil while on IR because of the LTBE incentives he got....)

As far as us being dominant next season, I highly doubt that particularly if Gus is still the QB...He had his best year last year with our system, but guess what, his best was still 27th in the league...That might get us to the playoffs, IF Saban can add the same amount of talent that he did last offseason to this offseason (not counting a new QB), but that won't get us any farther than the first round. Dilfer is a better QB than you give him credit for and while his season in Baltimore didn't set the record books on fire, he was very hot in the playoffs. Gus is a different bird...he is what he is and won't get any better...sorry, that's the way it is. Back to dominance...we should/could be improved, but dominant is a little of a stretch. Besides, how can you tell until after FA and the draft if we're going to be better or not ?? I surely can't...

Saban

Best thing to come out of Louisiana!! Leaving the LSU Tigers I was sad but being a Miami Dolphins Fan :dolphins: I was glad to see him go!
