Here's my take on what Saban will do in the Offseason & Free agent period

:yell:
First round: Draft a cb as we will not be able to get Keinart/Young or even Cutler
Second round: Draft a LB, Yes a lb as we need the depth as we are moving towards a 3 - defense
Third round: Maybe Omar Jacobs if he's available or a safety
Fourth round : Gone to Manny Wright
Fifth through seven: Dept @ WR/S/OL
No DL men needed at this stage Maybe next year
FA: OL men such as Hutchinson or Bentley as the line is young with Carey/Hadnot/Alabi/Smith & Berger and a few veterans will help solidify this line even more
Seconday veterans such as Law & Archuleta will greatly help
Any comments?
:dolphins: :yell:

We may have a shot at Culer now that Young declared. Saban will know the priority of teams that pick ahead of us. We may need to move from #16 to #10 or #11 to nab Cutler. If that's the case...I say we DO IT. Solve the QB delimma for years to come. If no QB options are available at the #16 slot, then yes draft the BPA among OT, CB, S.

Stay away from Jacobs...he's OVERRATED!

"We used our..." - the size of that Bills logo in your post (looks pretty proud), and you say "we"...do you have a Jets tattoo?

Id rather have jacobs than cutler

I think Cutler is the one who is being way over hyped

How do you know that Jay Cutler would solve our QB dilema for years? Can I borrow your crystal ball?

i don't think you like pocket qbs, i'd even venture to guess you'd rather have omar than matt lienart. honestly, i'd rather have vince than cutler and that's it. lienart is the best qb in the draft and that's quite obvious.

We need secondary help, but we can probably get by with adding a solid FA, instead of using a high draft pick there...

We could use some help on the OL, especially at OT. This may be the best way to go in round one. Depending on what else is / isn't available...

Most fans want us to go QB in round one, but if Culter isn't there, we should wait and use a later round pick on that position. I think we should pick up a FA this off-season, and let whoever it ends up being, battle it out with Frerotte...

A solid addition at S wouldn't hurt either. Y. Bell looked solid, but we could use another big hitter roaming the middle of the field...

The DL is solid, but it's old. I wouldn't rule out Saban / Mueller looking for some youth up front in round one. There are plenty of quallity players in the middle of round one we can use. It all depends on what / who is available...

PHINZ RULE!!!

Leinart = No

He doesnt have NFL calliber arm strength, threw 1 INT in the rose bowl but it should have been 3, even his TD was a poorly thrown ball by

Vince = Yes

Vince Young is hands down the best QB in the draft, Great arm strength, decent accuracy, can move around in the pocket, and almost all his runs are designed to be runs, he makes all the reads before he takes off

Cutler = Maybe

I just have a bad feeling about him, I mean a month ago he was a second rounder but now without even playing a game he is a top 10 pick possibly? it just scares me a little

Jacobs = Yes

One of the main knocks on him is that he actually stays in the pocket rather than useing his athletic ability to run, he had 300 rushing yards and 4 TD's, compare that to other athletic QB's and you see he isnt a guy that likes to run at all, he has amazing arm strength and amazing accuracy, but needs to improve his mechanics and decison making at times, he would have easily been a first round pick if he didnt play all this year injured, his sophmore year he set numerous passing records held by Pennington and Leftwich....not bad company to be in

You need better than "decent" accuracy in the NFL. DB's cover a lot tighter and break on the ball much better than in college. Margin for error is much smaller.

Not everyone coming out of college has amazing accuracy, a lot of guys develope it as they go along, just like they learn to read defenses, their accuracy improves as they gain confidence and rythme with their recievers

Id call his accuracy more than decent, but I wouldnt call it great yet either but it will improve to a level where its NFL calliber

The biggest reason why Cutler was considered a second rd pick is because of where he played, their record, their exposure. It isnt his physical skills nor teh system, ala Smith. Cutler is a big strong, smart kid who carried a horrible team on his back and showed poise and confidence doing it , showing up big against superior competition. He needs to sit a year and learn, but has everything you look for in a drop back passer. He can move to avoid pressure, but isnt a Young, Vick, McNabb type guy, but he is a very good passing qb.
