From today's press conference:

"I think with the quarterback situation, it’s great to have a guy that is a leader of the team that has tremendous capability, heart and is a tough competitor like Daunte is – he’s done a great job that way. He wants to play in the game. I think we have to make a decision if he’s physically capable of doing that. He practiced ok today. We want to watch the tape. We want to put him in a situation where he can be successful. If we feel like he can do that, then he’ll be ready to go in the game. If that’s not the case then – that’s why Joey (Harrington) was brought here and that’s what we’ll do."

" I respect the hell out of a guy that will put his career on the line and everything else on the line because he wants to play and he wants to be on the team. Sometimes you have to make a decision to protect people from themselves. There could be a boxer somewhere that had five concussions and maybe it’s time to say, ‘let’s wait awhile until you box again.’"

and

Will the decision be Culpepper's to make?
“I make all those decisions, but we always make those decisions with player input....I have to make the decision. The players can’t make those decisions."

Looks kind of Daunting.

GO PHINS~!

Culpepper leading the leagues in getting sacked 21 times in 4games so sad =(

Whatever the reason, it looks like Daunte might be on a short leash vs. the Pats.

I agree. It looks like Saban is setting it all up. If we don't score points in the first half next week. Look for joey to start the third.

To start DC and then put in Joey when we are behind is so unfair. Just start Joey now so he doesnt have to start from deep in a hole.

JH is better in the comeback situation than he is starting the whole game.

Maybe, but if Daunte struggles then even if behinds its worth a try.

I say rest DC for the game and if JH does good keep him in the game.

According to scout.com Joey is starting, I guess we'll finally get to see if it's the OL or the QB.

What we'll see is a different strategy by the Pats than if Daunte were playing. I'm sure they've got more filem of DC to work from than that of Joey.
If Joey starts, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see him do well, but that shouldn't mean that we bench DC for the remainder of the season...
Not based on one game anyway...

If Joey starts, plays well, and the Phins get a W vs. the Patriots, I would have to believe that Saban would stay with Harrington to see if he could do more of the same.

If Joey beats NE, has a good day statistically...the starting job should be his, no questions asked.

I will liken the QB situation here to Bledsoe/Brady and Maddox/Roethlisberger. The starter gets hurt, and the back-up comes in and wins to job outright.

I just want to see Joey start. He may be the answer to all these questions.
