(On what Joey Harrington’s doing differently now to make fewer mistakes) – “I think that he’s done a good job ever since he’s been here. I think as he gets more knowledge and experience in what we’re doing and what’s expected of him, we can minimize some of the bad plays, which is the same thing that we talked about yesterday after the game. I think that’s the difference, and if we can continue to do that, I think we’re going to enhance our chances of being successful.â€Â

(On if his success is due to having more knowledge and experience now or making better decisions) – “I don’t think you can separate those things. I think the knowledge and experience that you have affects the choices that you make – you, me, everybody. If you don’t have much experience and you don’t have much knowledge and if you’re 16 years old and you’re driving for the first time, you do some dumb stuff like back in into the tree around the circle in front of your house like my little girl did. With more knowledge and experience, she wouldn’t make that mistake, right? They are not separate. You make better decisions when you have more experience, you have more knowledge, you play with the same guys more, you anticipate what they are going to do, and they are going to anticipate what you’re going to do. It’s not a one-dimensional thing. It’s kind of a cumulative effect of this knowledge and experience that helps you make better choices and decisions about what you do and what you don’t do. I think experience is one of the critica factors in being able to make good choices and decisions about what you do and what you don’t do in a lot of things. It’s not just football. It would be a lot of things.â€Â

There is no way you wrote that it was word for word.

Yes it's word for word, no I didn't write it though  It's from the Transcript!

Interesting analogy. Saban's daughter could give him hell for that statement.

I think Joey's finally starting to get it. His growth was stunted by bad coaching even in college. He's still got the tools to be a starting QB if he keeps improving.

I agree, They were just saying the same thing on NFL Network Jim Mora and I forget the other guys name we're saying Joey's finally starting to get it and they even said we had a shot at the playoffs!

when joey throws for over 300 yards, 70% completion rate, 3 td's and no pics in a winning cause in one game, any game... that will be the breakthrough.

I have been impressed with Harrington. The way people talked about him in Detroit, it was like he was the worst QB ever. However he does throw that pass once in a while that makes you say "WTF?" But it's the other things he does so well. He is a good game manager, he makes great audibles, and he does throw some nice passes. I don't think he will be our guy next year (all though you never know what can happen) but he can be a good QB in this league IMO.

Haha, when I think of Jim Mora and playoffs I think of "Playoffs? Playoffs?!?!?!" *in a high-pitched wail*

You don't need 300yds passing, 70% comp rating and 3 tds to win a game in the NFL. What you need is a team effort....and coaching that doesn't cause you to lose games.

Of course Saban is going to back his players. He isn't going to get up there and trash Joey.

This is Joey Harrington. Not Dan Marino. Harrington's nowhere near Marino's capabilities. Him and Culpepper aren't good enough to hold Marino's jockstrap. All I expect out of Harrington is 240 yards, 60-65% completion, and maybe 1-3 TD's per game with only 1-2 ints.

Nah, some folks will still find something to complain about

Get it? They put up 13pts. I certainly hope this is not getting it.

the completion percentage is too high. 65% or 60% is more reasonable
