WTF is your problem, moron, so you think it was smart getting culpepper over Brees. and Im the idiot?

I think he was Saban's first choice, but Saban realized Brees wanted too much money and went to, what he thought, would be the next best thing

posts like this single handidly lower the collective iq of this board. which is low enough to begin with.

No I think it is Saban's fault for bringing in Mullarkey to dumb down our offense.

Yeah, don't you just love that?

We couldn't keep Surtain so we'll go with the "next best thing."

We couldn't keep Madison so we'll go with the "next best thing."

We couldn't keep Knight so we'll go with the "next best thing."

We couldn't keep Schulters so we'll go with the "next best thing."

Blah, blah, blah. This team is not what it should be.

Saban made the safer descision at the time. Who knew that both Pennington and Brees would bounce back from an injury like that? What i am mad about with Dante is that it's mostly mental lapses that are limiting his progress. I was watching other qbs today(which i won't name because i'll get flammed right out of the forum) but when the pressure comes they know what to do with the ball. They don't panic at all because they know who is going to be open and the quarterback just gets the ball out. Culpepper has some trouble reading defenses and the O-line isn't making it any easier for him.

Did u watch the game? How is is dumb saying Brees is the better choice? wake up explain why you think it is stupid instead of making a nonsense post.

There were rumors that he wanted to go after Matt Schaub from Atlanta after Brees signed with New Orleans, but Atlanta was asking for too much, so we went for Daunte.

edit.. my bad

wait who says Drew Brees is better than Cpep ? Besides doesn't Brees cost like 3 times as much ? LOL

By the way, the original poster was right. Culpepper has never excelled without Randy Moss, and has at times struggled with him. In short, Culpepper is not the deity some people made him out to be. Brees isn't quite a deity either, but there was no reason to think that Brees was a product of San Diego's offensive system.

This doesn't even touch on the complete waste that was Gus Frerotte as well as the current complete waste that is Mike Mularkey - who everybody outside of Nick Saban and a few blind-faithful fans knew was among the worst offensive minds in football.

Bress was coming off an arm injury. For all they knew he could've came back this season with a chad pennington arm. You can't blame them for the choice.

The only thing I blame Saban for is going on that meaningless winning streak at the end of last season. If we had lost two of those games we would've had Jay Cutler
