In his dayafter, Coach Saban talked about how so many fans left the game yesterday (because of the score). He was cautious to not "bash" the fans, but he did speak about how if the players thought like those fans, the game would have been lost. Because the game wasn't shown in my area, so I'm sitting there watching the CBS ticker at the bottom of the screen to see the results. Meanwhile, in Miami, fans are leaving by the hundreds. Even on the fan level, commitment is something special. Something that is rather rare.

if it was me, i would of stayed, not just because of the result, i mean, i was watching the game at home and my dad is a phins fan too, he wanted to shut the game off badly but i arugued with him and told him i wanted to see how sage would play and i just like watching miami, he finally agreed with me and boy was he happy he did...

I'm convinced we have the worst fans in the league in terms of their effect on both teams within the stadium.

That is sad oh well those that left are kicking themselves right now, I stayed to watch the comeback.

here here my friend.

I was once like you, sitting through sh!tty Ram games just to catch a glimpse of the Fins score.

Unfortunatly a lot of fans in Miami (and even people on this site will back me up... shoot you even see them post all the time after a loss) simply don't go to the games and are just mild fans. I hate to have to call some of those fans out, but there are a lot of them.

PS - Get the NFL Sunday Ticket, it's so worth the price

At any major sporting event the traffic leaving is always a huge hassle. Obviously making the assessment that all the fans that left were simply trying to avoid traffic would be absurd, but I know that a few years back I got dragged to a New England vs. Cincinatti game and New England was up by 17 or something in the beginning of the 4th quarter and we just left to avoid the rush and also because the patriots are about as interesting as watching paint dry. I am sure that when fans saw the scoreboard, saw how the team was playing around the end of the 3rd quarter why not just leave. Thats not every fan but im sure at least a measurable amount.

So that I don't have to defend my position later, I will say right now that I believe that Saban is the future of this franchise and will get us to the SB in years to come BUT...

With all due respect to Saban, he really should concentrate on stopping the mindless penalties and getting back the disciplined play of the Shula years before he takes time out of his busy schedule to tell fans how to act.

Fan react to good performance by being eager to watch and cheer and react badly to poor performance by leaving games early.

I agree that fans should show their support and not boo or leave games early but that is the sad reality. The only way he can fix it is to fix the team.

If I wasn't using cable, I'd go with get the NFL Sunday Ticket. Maybe some day I'll make the switch.

He was clear that he had nothing against that. His comments were in response to a question about what this win does for the team.

And yes, I agree, this coach will turn this team around.

Before last Sunday what had the team shown to the fans to suggest that they could score 21 points in a quarter?

We have great fans

but some arnt

Our true fans are some of the most loyal in the league

our non fans make us look stupid

The number of fair weather fans of the team local to the area is mind-boggling to those of us who are hard core fans but can't go see the team down in Miami often if ever.

I don't think it's calling people out because I seriously doubt any of the local fans who post here qualify as fair weather fans. I'm guessing they know better than any of us how sorry a lot of the locals are and hate it even more than the rest of us do.
