My feeling is that play calling in football be it High School..College or NFL is such a feel almost an art form, so with mularky being asked to call plays from a play book thats not his own in some ways hinders his ability as a OC.

Not to over hype what happend in Baltimore "but" look at the way balt responded with the change in there situation, or how coaches like Andy Reid..Mike Holmgren or even Shannahan have great OC's but yet still call plays..because its their play book.

The great Bill Walsh called his own plays...in the end I guess what I'm saying is Saban might consider allowing Mularky to instill his own playbook or promote someone from the staff that has been around since Linehan installed the playbook how may have a better feel for the playbook concept.

Saban screwed up by hiring Mularkey and by letting go of Frerotte. This team is going nowhere until they get a real QB and a real OC.

Did anyone notice how well Rosenfals played? Why was Saban so eager to get rid of him?

As I said in the other thread, Mike Mularkey is using his own playbook. He's simply using Scott Linehan's words to describe the formations and the plays that he uses. You had one person, and offensive coordinator learning a new set of terminology rather then an entire offensive unit and coaching staff.

If Mike Mularkey cannot adjust to that, he should be fired regardless of any results on the field.

The question is will Saban let Mularky go at the end of the season or will Mularky get a head coaching job.

We need an OC and DC that will be here long team and quit making coaching changes.

Mularkey....has to GO...

WHY have 3 teams fired thier OC`s and the Dolphins still have Mularkey????
