FSU Linebacker coach Kevin Steele notified Bobby Bowden this morning that he was leaving FSU to become Nick Saban's defensive coordinator at Alabama. Speaking with a Tallahassee reporter Steele thanked Bowden, Mickey Andrews and FSU fans for their support and mentioned hed been grappling with this decision for DAYS as to whether to accept Saban's offer. Kind of funny that Saban says he just made up his mind Wednesday morning and yet he clearly had contacted Steele about the DC job a number of days earlier. For Steele's contract to already be done this morning you know his hiring by Saban had to have been in the works for some time. This is yet more proof how much Saban really lied.

Um, hasn't it been reported he made his mind up before and Huizenga wanted him to sleep on it or something?
 
fins5 new hope-I dont have a link but I heard Steele say it on WNLS(Tallahassee sports radio station) this afternoon. Hopefully later today they will post the Steele interview on their website. I'll check around on Warchant.com and maybe I can find a link-their are lots of threads about Steele's departure there.
 
He got that 10:00 extension on purpose,so he could get the hell out of Dodge before the fans and media befell him.He never intended on showing up at our 'Fins Field for the press conference.He just wanted a window to escape.
 
wow what little respect for him is gone to know that before our season was finished he was already assembling his coaching staff lol wow he's a worm
 
I think once Nick took the Bama Job we all knew this wasn't a last minute thing.
 
Typical Snake. He probably had a staff assembled half way through this year.
