We all know Saban has paranoia of the other team getting their play calls so he must not be too happy with the fact that the Falcons KNEW they were going to pass on 3rd and 2 since whenever ricky and ronnie are in the backfield together, according to keion carpenter, the dolphins pass because one of the two doesnt block. And to further criticize the coaching staff, the reason we passed the ball was because we thought the Falcons would think we are running it so we wanted to confuse them. How about this........ even if the Falcons KNEW we were going to run the ball, do you honestly think they would have stopped us twice only needing two yards? Definitely not. There is a such thing as overanalyzing the situation and Linehan did that. There was no need to get tricky on 3rd and 2, we could have even told the Falcons which side the run was going to and I still have confidence we would have picked up that first down.

What it all comes down to is.........

Send Linehan to Philadelphia where they hate to run the ball he will be in heaven and give us the Texans O-Coordinator whoever it is, because he is actually smart enough to realize carr cant pass and they have a beast in domanick davis so just give him the damn ball.

Sounds like you want to play Wanny ball. Why dont you become a fan of the Pitt Panthers and stop wasting youre time here?

Wanny didn't throw, even when we needed to and the run wasn't working. NOW we have to backs getting 5 ypc and you don't run more? Even I, pass lover, sees the smarts in running more.

Gus and passing more is a contradiction. The only conclusion is Sage or run more.

No but is there ANYONE in the booth who keeps a record of how many times they run/pass out of the same formation? Am I the only one who thinks passing 8/9 times with RandR in the backfield is a little lopsided and gives off a tendency to the defense? A GOOD offensive coordinator does not have tendencies and Linehan's tendency to always pass the ball with RandR is what put us in that mess on 3rd and 2.

(not to mention it wouldnt have hurt to throw the ball away since nobody was open Gus)

One of the main reasons they are getting 5 yards a carry is because we have a balanced attack. If we commited to the run (like Wanny), teams would stack up the line on every play because they know we wouldnt throw. Throwing the ball, even if unsucessful at it, helps us when we DO run the ball.

No, Wanny ball would be running it no matter who is QBing. Logic is that having a guy who can't hit the broad side of a barn throw the ball alot probably isn't a good idea. And just to let you know, Wanny ball would have actually won yesterday.
