Looking at what Saban's done so far in the draft, versatility is the key to players Saban definately wants in his players.
#2: RB R. Brown (6',233)-best combination of speed, power, & receiving of all the running backs in the draft.
#46: DE Mat Roth-good enough athelete to play a 4-3 DE or 3-4 LB (has experince at LB, MLB in college).
#70: LB Crowder-look for him as eventual replacement to Seau at WLB, or s 3-4 ILB.
#104: CB Tavis Daniels-think he'll be FS, but has experience at all defensive back positions.
After only 4 draft picks can't say this is a definate trend, but his free agent pick ups have also show versitle players are what Saban will target.
As for the fans complaining about not enough offensive players taken, they should have expected a defensive minded coach/GM to make sure his defense needs are adressed before offensive needs. Even RB Brown could be considered as an offensive player drafted to help the defense with time of possesion.
