saban's responsibilties

this might be a dumb question but
what are nick saban's actual gametime responsibilties?

he's said he lets his offensive coordinators call the plays and run the offense and pretty much do everything on that side of the ball so it sounds like he does nothing when we are on offense.
and in his press conference he said he lets his defensive coordinators call his defenses.

so what exactly does he do during the game?
does he just decide what kind of scheme and let the coordinator get specific?
does he just say 'i want to run here' or 'i want to try a big pass play' or does he not even do that? does he design the plays and let the coordinators pick from them?

or is he just a gametime motivator?

im sorry if this insults anyone's football acumen,
id love it if someone could elucidate...


o and im psyched after watching his press conference,
i cant wait to see him work

I can't help you, but I can chime in with this:

If he's like Joe Gibbs, he'll take a 20 or 30 minute nap right before kickoff.

he can override the coridinators and manages the both of them he also yells at the players, manages the clock, time outs, and challenges. He is responsible for the end result of each game plan and pace/direction of the game. He is also responisble for taking peeps at the cheerleaders without getting caught by the camera's
