Sabans Running game.

Now i remember when we first got Nick Saban that there were a lot of discussions as to how he dealt with the running game. And if i remember correctly, he uses 1 generally smaller back, and another powerful back. Now I know we're all making a big deal about rickys weight, but is there a possibility that Ricky would be the 'smaller' back and Ronnie (who weighs in at 230ish) is the powerful one?

I don't think it matters to saban whose faster, or who moves better, just that he'll have 2 Legit workhorses to kill a defense with. Ricky could very well be a change of pace back for us, which i know sounds weird, but its probably true. I know we're all dreaming and remembering those days when ricky ran all over everyone, but we have that in Ronnie Brown. Ronnies arguebly bigger then Ricky was. And probably faster as well.

Also, just for the hell of it, im going to throw a question out there...Ricky at running back. Ronnie at wideout with booker, chambers, and boston. As a Linebacker, who do you Key off of?

Ronnie catching passes will be a matchup problem no matter what, as long as someone can throw it near him.

very good point dude never thought of that, but now that i look at rickey and how much smaller he seems than before that could very much be true,... wow what a change of pace that would be

itd be better to ask about linehan's running game than saban's, saban seems to be handing the reigns to linehan to spread the offense, while saban works hard with the defense, but it seems saban likes to use multiple backs, just look at the running back talent lsu will have this year with nick's scouting, they seem to have three great backs to split carries.

Theres a good possibility that we do use both ricky and ronnie well. And i like how you brought up that he had 3 talented backs in LSU. Because I believe Gordon will be used as well. Im not positive, but hes nice to have as well.
