Saban's worst coaching move so far is to tell the players that some penalties are not going to bother him and then there are other ones that are bad. that leaves players not trying to end them all. In their minds if they are showing enthusiasm there is something OK with that.

If we are to be exciting about the process this season and how this team builds, this has to become part of it. At this point he should have them aim for NO penalties regardless of all else.

Lets see this team not have them. A Loss with no penalties would make be happier for a game. They have to learn to not do it. The wins will come after that. The story has been the same every week, only big plays saved us with Denver and a pick save us with Carolina. Besides that, the story has been the same every week and it is the single biggest issue right now, as well as week 3,2,1 and preseason.

I agree completely. I think taking shots at the refs for being inconsistant was also a bad signal to send. Sabans team made 18 penalties, a franchise record, the only people that deserve blame are the team. The teams need to get a grip, not the refs.

Its not really the after-snap penalties that are killing us, its the mental mistakes. I don't really know how much more prep you can do, to keep players from jumping offsides or moving early. DLine please watch the ball and not listen to the snap count. OLine we have barely given up a sack this year so wait for the ball to snap to move, we will be OK....

Saban's worst move was cutting Ed Perry.

forget the 18, there were other ones as well that were declined for &%$ sakes. Saban is doing it again this week calling the refs inconsistent. It was really hard to mouth off about anything at all at the statium. Imbarrasing I thought. There was a penality every 3 or 4 plays all day long. then add in the turnovers. Talk about the team...taking the 12 man off the field.

When some bills fans started getting nervous I said, " don't worry there is no way Miami will win playing like this". Many fans are also FOOTBALL fans besides being DOLPHIN fans. I am not going to sit there at tell people I think this is good football. And any dolt posters can say I am not a good fan if they like. I say back, then you are not a great fan of football.

Ronnie was good. Booker was in the mix again. Welker I like. There are good things going on but it is time to look at this years biggest problem. It is time for SABAN to look at it. Come on SABAN can you make people do as you say....or are you even saying anything powerful? You have done so much why can't you address THIS firmly?

This is part of the problem. Saban needs to say no to all penalties, evene the after snap. The taunting touchdown and resulting short kickoff cost us the game, if you like, for example. At that point it was a new game 14-17 and yet we continue with the disipline issues.

That was a ****ty penalty however. Give me a BREAK. Could have been prevented however.

I was going to post this very thing myself. Saban hasn't addressed penalties properly, and is still making the mistake of blaming others. I believe we have committed more penalties in each subsequent game than the preceeding. At this rate, we should committ 20-25 against Tampa next week.

I am not going to say the season is over or anything rediculous like that, however, I will say that THIS IS NOT A GOOD TEAM. Good teams don't beat themselves. Good teams execute with discipline. Good teams don't make these mistakes. In the NFL, there is little talent differential, and that means gameplanning and execution are the difference between a W or an L. This team has gameplanning, but they are incapable of error free execution.

Until Miami brings this to a halt, I don't want to hear about how we are a playoff team, or how close we were to winning, or any of that other crap. Until we fix this, we are just another talented team that can't get their **** together and underachieves.

Note to Saban: Quit baby-ing your players and accept responsibility. Maybe this week's 24 hour rule should be replaced by 24 hour windsprints :fire:

aside from saying "i'm not doing a good job," how exactly is saban making this someone else's problem?

also: saban hasn't addressed the penalties? what would you do? is this what you would do: punish the players? how do you know he's not doing it? how do you know he's babying them? the penalties are not a good thing, but the team's fighting spirit is. we can't expect everything to be fixed right away. an atmosphere entirely lacking in discipline can't be turned around in a few games.

I am glad to see posts like this. In the Bye week I posted one saying "Why are people not talking about penalities" and the post got little attention. Glad to see some people feel as I do. You have to take care of the big problems and make them a Priority. Saban is letting people of the hook, not good, I am very very surprised after all the talk about THE DAMN PROCESS. Right now "lipservice comes to mind" it is time to Walk the Talk.

You never know if there was something else involved with the cutting of Ed Perry that they didn't share with the media.

You just never know what else could have contributed to letting him go behind the scenes. He sure was one of the best though.

Has he landed on his feet?

a bad snap on a punt can be like 3 or 4 15 yarders. all on the same play.

Yes OK, and it hurt us yesterday, but, Snapping the ball is a smaller issue than penalities.
